| Versatile actor Suhasini Mulay has been acting in umpteen number of television shows and films, but not many know that she is an award winning Suhasini Mulay directing and producing Agantuk
| documentary film maker too. And now, the lady is producing and directing a telefilm called Agantuk, commissioned by the central government and is scheduled to be a bilingual (Hindi and Gujarati) mini-series. The film has Bakul Thakkar as the central character, besides Diana Rawal (product of the National School of Drama, Sanat Vyas who was last seen in a major role in Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka and Prathamesh Mehta, Shilpa Thakkar, Bharat Thakkar and Dipali Rawal (all Gujarati theatre actors). "The film is based on a Sahitya Akademi award winning novel by Dhiruben Patel. It's a story of a man( Ishaan) who is a Sanyasi, who, because of the politics in the ashram, decides to leave it and come back to his brothers in Mumbai. Once there, he realises that nobody is ready to do anything for anyone, unless the person gets something in return," says Suhasini, who's having a blast currently playing a four times married woman (called Kosha) in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Kosha, she says, is just a 120 episode role. Also, Suhasini will be seen in a Harry Baweja film called Production Number nine where she plays the prime minister, as also Tony and Deeya Singh's new show Jab Love Ho Gaya. The shooting for Suhasini's own DD project is over (they shot in Mumbai and Bharuch) and the series will air on Doordarshan in April this year. Agantuk will be aired for one hour (six episodes in all) and will be aired over a period of one and a half month on Doordarshan.
Says an excited Bakul, who was last seen as Lalit chachu in Kkusum, "I play the central character in the film and the film depicts my relations with my brothers and the world." He is also doing a play titled Mera Naam Joker which will be staged in March. He is also doing an untitled film for Neeraj Bohra.
