Romit Raj in love with Anchoring
Romit Raj is on Cloud Nine after receiving all the praises for being a good host on Star Plus' Perfect Bride. Says Romit, "The overall experience was challenging, because this was my first stint as anchor. Initially there were butterflies in my stomach, but all changed when Shekhar Suman complimented me and my growth as an anchor. Malaika joined in and said that I had become a part of the Perfect Bride family".
Elaborating more on his stint as host, Romit tells us, "In daily soaps, we do get breaks in between shots, but while hosting we have to stand and deliver continuously. We hardly get a break and above all, we need to have a good presence of mind. I used to watch the entire week's episodes to prepare myself for the coming week. I am now looking forward to hosting the Season 2 of Perfect Bride (smiles)".
Ask Romit on his description of a Perfect Bride, and he is quick to say, "A Perfect Bride is the one who loves unconditionally, is a nice human being who believes in marriage. She should respect elders and should be ready to bear all responsibilities".
Romit had to go thro' a bad phase in his personal life when he broke his long-going relationship with Shilpa Shinde. "I have always said that Shilpa is a very nice person, but it is unfortunate that our thoughts did not match. Plenty of things were happening in my personal life, but I gave my 100% to hosting this show. At the end of it, I feel that whatever happens, happens for good. I had to put aside my sorrow and smile for the sake of my family as I did not want to see them suffering. Whatever happened, was mutually decided, and we need to move on".
Coming back to Perfect Bride, Romit's favourite contestants were Nandita, Rumpa and Priyanka. "These three girls deserved the title of Perfect Bride, because they were independent, were well educated, and they knew what they were speaking", quips Romit.
Romit who is still super excited about hosting Perfect Bride feels that his next work will have to be some fiction show. "Acting is my first love, and I will look for a fiction show. Having said that, I am in love with anchoring and I would love to host more shows in future", says Romit as he signs off.
