Okay so, here we go!
I really liked today's episode. To me it had a lot many stand out moments.
First, Vardhan spewing his bullshit venom as usual, but Rey is collected. But the moment you see Vardhan telling Rey that whatever he had with Prani is in the past and he got to leave it behind and not believe her, that very moment, you see Rey's entire demeanour changing, the first open indication that he gives that he is not ready to leave Prani alone or give into his family's demands without knowing what is the truth.
Dadi seems convinced by Vardhan, finally I see a bigger manipulator than her. The moment Dadi notices the change in Rey's demeanour, she pushes Vardhan away and hops in as the main manipulator. She has till date used two major weapons against Rey, one is love drama, the other being doing shit in the name of business & family. But at this point she seems to caught on to Rey's latest weakness - Jugnu. She spins how Prani is doing all this to malign Khurannas and gain custody of Jugs and then go live with Archit. What Dadi doesn't know is this whole PraChit relationship is also Rey's weakness. So she basically attacks two of his weakest points (Khurannas & Jugs) knowingly and another weakness (PraChit) unknowingly. This is when you see Rey going back to being the manipulated puppt he is, you can physically see Rey's demeanour change as she speaks.
You see Rey in the middle, on one side convinced that Prani wouldn't be lying about nothing and that there would be some truth to her words and on the other side convinced that, Prachit are doing this for Jugnu's custody. You see him go still, stuck between two horrible situations, both involving his weaknesses. He cannot choose between the two without proof, he'll never forgive himself if he did either parties wrong when they were actually right. So you see him going right back to the middle. Kunal Jaisingh, kudos, wonderfully acted out!
Then the whole police station scene. Wjat goes down is a horrible sequence and I wish that woman gets her fair share of pumishment for speaking whatever she did and behaving the way in which she did. But the scene pretty much sums up how much she needs Archit in her life at the moment. She is strong alone, she is not a abla nari, we all know that, but that doesn't mean that she does not need someone to share her stuff with. Archit, right now is that person, he is the friend and shoulder that she needs, she seems to have no conmection with her own family and about the Khurannas, the less said the better.
I loved the scene where the inspector pushes both of them out, Archit stumbles but instinctively pulls/ holds Prani from stumbling or falling. I don't know if it was purposely shot that way or not, but Prani has someone to hold her when she stumbles. The only good thing, the whole drama only pushes Prani's will to fight for herself even more!
And Vardhan, this guy keeps going lower and lower, he somehow beats my low expectations every episode. Glad that they chose to the trump card, glad that she heard whatever she did and even better that she chose not to tell Prani about it. Jugny will literally be the biggest trump card in this track. She knows that Vardhan is upto something, she will definitely try and protect Prani first and when this entire thing blows up, I am rooting for her to tell what she knows before everyone, Rey can't go against Jugnu's own words, can he? And here comes the advantage of Jugs hiding it from Prani, nobody can tell that Prani made Jugnu tell this is if Jugnu tells that even Prani doesn't know about it in the first place.
Then comes my favourite scene, I had to re-watch it again and again because my ReyChit brain was inappropriate for the most part. @Vswarup I know you would've cracked up too.
So when Rey sees these two together, you see him in the dilemma again, if they're right I won't stand in their way but if they're doing this to ruin my family, I'll ruin them. But, as he sees Archit patting her, you see our 'petty jealous possessive lover big baby Rey' come out. And then again he sees Chit holding Prani's jewel. Here is where we see Chit moving from his protective friend to lover mode, as he holds and looks at the dangling, he smiles and you can see the feelings side of him for Prani surface. On the forefront, at the moment, he is trying to be the strength and the friend that Prani needs but that little piece that Prani leaves behind brings the boy who dearly loves her out from somewhere beneath. I really loved that scene cuz it was very natural, he has the feelings but he also knows what Prani needs and his feelings will only burden her at the moment. But with that genuine smile, he also showed that it was the girl he loved, one - sided, but still did with all his heart. It was a small memoir that he could keep.
And then goes our Rey baby, here again we get to see both his dilemmas or confusions. First one, his current dilemma that Dadi instigated as he asks if Prani came to meet Archit last night. But when Chit explaining the investor situation, he asks if it was Vardhan. Archit clearly doesn't know but he re-affirms to Rey that Prani doesn't lie and he needs to get that into his head. Rey immediately swings back to the other side that Prani is capable of doing anything for Jugs' custody. Chit clearly doesn't understand whatever Rey's spewing and doesn't want to understand it either, but Rey as much as he doesn't want to know, tries to get if Chit is playing dumb.
Then comes the second dilemma, the one about PraChit's relationship that has been haunting him. You see him asking about the dangling that Chit was planning to pocket as a memoir. Whatever followed was jealousy and his response that he has been yearning to give Chit for a long time now. The entire drama about getting the dangling back and whatever is Prani's belongs to the Khurannas until she is there was somewhat him being territorial and trying to show Chit his place. This is just the mirror image of Chit's, 'as soon as she steps out, I'll take her far away', Rey telling 'As long as she is inside, don't you dare come anywhere near'. Plus, I found him shaking and showing off the dangling funny & petty, it is like when a kid has a chocolate and no one else does, it shows it off. I wonder what would've happened if Chit refused to give it back.
And then Rey talks about Prani trusting Chit the most and Chit gladly accepting that cuz he is her friend. Here is where Rey falters, he believes that Chit is always in lover boy avatar, which is completely false. All the trust that Prani has on Chit is not her ex-fiance or the lover boy chit, but its on Chit who is her most reliabke friend for several years. Rey witnesses a glimpse of the lover boy avatar and assumes the rest. Rey baby, you're not the only one with issues, you maybe bipolar, Chit has a split personality π (No offence to people suffering from any of these issues in real life).
And for the first time we witness Prani reeling from the impact of whatever happened, trying to piece it together and trying to understand what happened and how it did. Then for the first time since PB began she earnestly thanks Rey for his help, he can see that she is genuine. But then, she goes on to tell that he won't believe her and that's okay. Here's where Rey is again in the middle of his dilemma (btw Prani being honest and PraChit plotting against Khurannas) and there's only one way he can find out, play both sides of the field and cater to both sides to see which one is true. And that is exactly what he does, tells Prani that he is here to listen to her side.
For a fraction of a second we see Prani about to burst open, but she immediately withdraws hold back. And the begins the game, Prani & Reyansh, both know the others' weakness and strength is their love child. And both use her as the pawn for their own motives. That is not a very nice parental thing to do, but both at that moment know that it's the only way to push the other to do the right thing or to get the truth out of the other. Prani swears on her daughter, Rey knows how much she loves that child. He agrees to help the other person who loves that child as much as he does, if not more. But the help comes at a cost, to get the truth. If the Prani is lying the cost is separation from the one she loves the most forever. Both use Jugnu, I am not exactly supportive of that, but both have their strong reasons and they both know it's the only way to reach or get the truth from the other. And thus begins a new Prayansh Plan!
I really loved the episode and I enjoyed writing this entire rant! Excited for all that's in store for us!!
