THE ENGAGEMENT!
I personally think that was the most ironic or the 'twist of time & fate' thing to ever happen to Prayansh after Jugnu.
That engagement sure did change a lot of equations, sometimes very openly, but mostly very subtly.
Praniti, who had a great deal of respect and belief in all these rituals and signs takes that ring as something she has to bear for the next 6 months for Jugnu, it was a small price that she had to pay for the love she had for her daughter. It was nothing more to her, it was a simply a ring, last time she had an engagement ring on, she valued it so much that she actually confessed the entire truth of her past to Archit and even went on to destroy whatever remained so that she could begin a new life with Archit and honour that relationship. Even when she broke of the engagement, she did it because she knew the ring's significance, what it meant and that she'll not be able to honour or fulfill any of them towards Archit. But, when she got engaged with Rey, it wasn't duty or honour or devotion, it was just a jewel on her finger that she had to wear for Jugnu's sake.
Reyash, the boy or should I say, the bee as he called himself, nothing mattered to him. He din't believe in rings, rituals and committments, he din't want one, neither did he ever respect someone else's committment either (you see him sleeping with someone else's wife in his intro). To him consent mattered, as long as he had consent, someone else's status din't matter. He wasn't ready for his own engagement but he had to do it, it was business, it was for his family. He, of all the people I know, he was one who was capable of taking it as a mere ring and nothing more. Externally that's what he did, but bhagya decided to play a cruel game, it decided that the ring is going to shift something deep within him without even him realising it.
Reyansh Khuranna, to whom relationship status' din't matter, suddenly began to matter, to whom consent mattered all along din't matter (forceful hugs or touches or just creeping in on her) when he saw that he or his ring din't matter to Prani. It is very obvious that something shifted with that engagement. The whole Archit drama also went to another level only after the engagement.
