Reyansh had an inkling of the view that he was going to witness thanks to the noises that were coming from the room but still nothing prepared him for desolation he saw when he finally reached the door. Few hours made world of changes in the setting. His ninja was in pain, it was as clear as a day to anyone who knows what pain is, who has experienced even a small bit of it, to others his ninja would look like someone throwing a tantrum, someone who is self-centred,and want everything to revolve round her. They would never understand how much it hurts to know there is no one who care about them, to know your happiness and sadness doesn’t matter to anyone. But unfortunately his ninja knows it, she has faced it all her life until she met pranati and him. It took great efforts from pranati’s side to make his ninja trust her, he needs to be blind to have not notice that.

With him, his ninja connected instantly, maybe due to the genes or maybe because they both faced similar abandonment situations with both their moms leaving them when they were small. Maybe that is why he is unable to enter on even seeing his daughter facing similar pain, his demons were roaring inside him, making it impossible to focus on anything. Looking at the scene in front of him, reminded of his room when he got to know that his mom has left him, he didn’t eat for one week, waiting for her to come back and make him eat by her own hands. But that day never came and after one week, he was hospitalized with dadi making him swear on her to make him eat. Slowly he was able to function enough that people around him thought he has forgotten his mom. But if truth be told, he was never able to recover from it and that resulting wound is still there, which bleeds time and again when something touches him emotionally. This is the reason why he runs away from emotions, the resultant pain becomes too much for him, leading to his inner demons taking over and him not having any control over his actions after that. Like the time when pranati in her anger, reminded him of his mother and he lashed out in ways that he is not proud of. He never got to say sorry to pranati for it.

Pranati!! Pranati’s bday!!Jugunu’s card!! He struggled to quieten the demons in him, his ninja needs him the most, he calls her warrior princess but today he needs to the warrior for his ninja, he can’t let his past swallow him, he can’t allow the sea of pain in him to drown him. As he struggles within him, his ninja finally saw him standing at the door. It seems like all the fight went out of her, and she curled into a ball near the bed, and kept her head in her lap. Seeing her almost collapse like that, finally made overcome his ghosts and the haze infront of him cleared and he went next to her and sat down quietly. Now was his test of patience, cause if he says anything first then his ninja will erect walls around him which would be difficult to breach. So he waited patiently for her to be calm enough to talk and while he waited. He thought about all the incidences of today. It would be hard to believe that few hours before this room was decorated and they both were impatient to celebrate pranati’s bday and give her the surprise which they painstakingly planned for her. He was equally shocked to see her celebrating with archit but now is not time to analyse that feeling.Right now his daughter needs him and he will be there for her. He slowly kep this hand on her head and was happy when she didn’t jerk it off, soon she will becalm enough to hear him and understand things.

He almost laughed as it was so ironic that had this incident happened few weeks before when he had not accepted archit-pranati’s relation,probably he would have made a bigger scene and would be the one trying to calm himself than his ninja. But still accepting it and being okay with archit celebrating her bday with her before them are two very different things and right now he needs to focus on his ninja, who put her heart and soul in the surprise, his own feeling are immaterial in front of his ninja’s. He need to make sure she is okay and the bond that was finally budding continues in the same way. He was pretty sure if pranati knew about the surprise and his ninja's efforts, her tears won’t stop falling from happiness. He has seen all of her struggles to get jugunu to open up with her. In his case, he was lucky to be able to connect with his ninja like that but pranati struggled at each step. His ninja finally opening to her mother and showing her emotions, he can’t let his ninja to close down again because no one knows importance of mother in child’s life more than him. He needs his ninja to listen to him and more than anything her reaction to dadi’s words was way too strong. He needs to find out exactly what is going on in his ninja’s mind. As of his thoughts reached her, she finally brought her face up and asked him a question that pierced his heart ‘how can she leave me and go? ’

Seemingly upfront question had a deeper meaning. He was able to see himself in her eyes asking the same question but never gotten an answer. He vowed same should never happen to his ninja, even if it meant destroying himself and stand aside and let pranati- archit be together then so be it. If it means that his ninja never has to be away from her mother than he was ready to pay the price. His pain is nothing in front of his ninja’s happiness. He asked pranati how, when she was unconscious, today he got his answer, his ninja’s happiness, that is enough for him to bear the pain which he feels whenever he see archit and pranati together.

But right now he need to assuage her fears, so very gently he said ‘when did she leave? Arre we planned such an amazing surprise that she wasn’t aware about it. So when her friends called she went. Ab use sapne mein toh nahi aaega na ki hume uska bday yaad hai and that we were only acting about not remembering it. Come on ninja, I thought you were smart. Che matlab ese kaise soch sakti hai tu ki teri nayi maa, tere saath bday na celebrate karke, uss uss dost uncle ke saath manana chahti hai’.

Finally the anguish behind his ninja’s eyes dimmed a little and she perked up, but she still needed reassurance, so he continued ‘ bhul gayi kya… last time jab dost uncle ko help chahiye thi and hum yaha maze kar rahe the toh unne maan chachu ko bhej diya tha…and who yahi ruk gayi thi…..kya ninja tum sab bhul jati ho’

That made her take a beat and finally, his ninja shared her deepest fear in a small voice ‘she won’t leave me ever?’, he quickly wiped the tear that was about to fall hearing her say it and replied ‘even if you try, she won’t leave you. Dekha nahi tune use kitna maza aata hai tere peeche padhe rehne mein. Tuje chod kar kisi aur ke peeche padhe itni himmat nahi hai. Abhi bhi dekh liyo kahi baith kar ro rahi hogi, tuje itna naraaz dekh kar’

‘Maine jada gussa kar diya?’

‘Thoda sa’

‘Sorry bolna chahiye na? unka bday hai aur woh sad hogayi. Decorations bhi kharab hogayi’ at last his ninja’s guilt came forward. Seeing her worried about her mom, he finally felt peaceful, his task was done.

‘Arre why fear when your bandar papa is here. Tu ja apni maako dekh. Kahi ro ro kar ghar mein sehlaab nahi le aaye. Main party ki taiyari karta hu….ja ’

Seeing His ninja smiling is the best feeling in world. Maybe second to seeing her mother smile.

With big smiles on their face, both went their own way toa chieve their goals.

After all it was pranati’s bday and they have only half-hour left. after that, he needs to talk to her.
