Good Morning on a lazy Sunday summer morning!
Just saw a post here on the new promo of the OG.
The context in which both are leaving the house is very different, brothers and SILs are still very much in support of each other bit Jeeva did make a mistake unknowingly which has led to Kathir-Mullai leaving the house. Jeeva is remorseful and is heartbroken that he us responsible for what’s happening in Kathir-Mullai’s life. Meena is not outwardly supporting Kathir-Meena but she has no malice against them.
Kathir-Mullai are leaving the house not because of the brothers disagreement but because of the extended family that humiliated Kathir - mainly Meena’s father, Janardhan and Dhanam’s mother, Brother Jaga (Hardik here), SIL Kasturi ( Anita here) and Mullai’s own mother (she was not harsh on Kathir but she definitely took out her frustration on Mullai)
For Kathir who has been the most level headed, giving brother of all the four of them, his self respect and Mullai’s self respect and well being is the most important thing in the world. For that he will not hesitate to leave the house, even if it results in going away from his brothers and BhabiMa.
Saturday’s episode was one of the most sad, heartbreaking episode of the OG- couldn’t see Kathir and Mullai go through humiliation at the hands of the extended family, both didn’t say a word.
That said, I don’t see it happening in this version because for Shiva family is the most important thing and when he could not bear Dev and Rishita leaving the house, there is no question of him leaving at all.
Here the writers always think of separating Shiva- Raavi but in the OG, no jodi is separated. If they go through hardships, they are always fight it together.
I am enjoying the episodes in the OG than here, these days.
P.S: Will always love Jeeva’s character, much much better than Dev, who I cannot relate to in several instances.
I really wish there wasn't a language barrier and I could enjoy the OG show. The storyline that you are describing is not only sad but is seems to be executed very beautifully. It makes me sad that this PS is not written as beautifully or has ever reached its full potential. How I wish the show that I watch is done justice but we have bhabhi bhakti going on everywhere 😭.

I am not saying this because I understand the language and have been watching the show for almost last 3 1/2 years since it started, characters are written very well and the graph is visible in front of your eyes and the tracks, some might be lame but for most part they are logical and relatable. You will not have sasta comedy in every track and emotions are given importance and there is very little room for plotting and planning. Comedy is still part of the show but without much cringe and is not the main aspect of the show. Any misunderstanding or bitterness that happens between characters is not because a 3rd person plotted to separate the family but due to circumstances.
Anyway this version dropped the ball long tome ago, at this point the makers are walking a thin line, trying to salvage what is left but they have to understand that majority of them have moved on to better shows. It is difficult the audience once you lose them and they are also failing miserably to sustain the interest of viewers like us who are still looking for some silver lining.
Now it is all in SP’s hands to see how long they want to keep this show running.

True! Raavi lost it long time ago during the. I won’t blame her at all when sge came back for Dhara to help her with the pregnancy in episode# 199 and even the next 20 episodes were fine too. But when Suman challenged Raavi around episode #220 that she will get Shiva remarried, that was the point Raavi’s self respect took a big hit and the subsequent 3rd angle track when Suman abused and humiliated her and it went on the negative side during the IVF/divorce kaand when both Shiva and Suman were nasty with her sealed the deal and since then it has not made a return.
As for others in PN, no one has it anyways from the beginning, so it is futile to expect Raavi to have it too.
Oh, and how Adbhut was miracle of the century!!
