Rishita Ki Double Standards

A lot of things about Rishita get on my nerves, obviously. But this one thing, in particular, I've noticed repeatedly.

The Double Standard in her words when it comes to herself and Raavi.

Ex.1 a few episodes ago, she was asking Dev why Raavi was being so dramatic?

-So, you're allowed to throw a tantrum and be upset for almost not being with Dev, but Raavi is not allowed to be upset that she lost her childhood love...Okay.

Ex. 2 When she asked Raavi how long she loved Dev because the longer you love someone, the longer it'll take to get over them and blah.

- Exactly, same thing could be said for her, she has only been in love with him for 2 years, a lifetime shorter than Raavi's. She could have gotten over Dev much faster, but no, apparently it doesn't apply to her.

Ex. 3 That situation in the precap: People's wedding breaks! and they move on...

-So why exactly couldn't she understand that? She could have moved on since she makes it seem so easy.

I have to say, I can't agree with your post anymore than with what you've already written. Rishita right now is being a hypocrite in many ways than one, and I don't know if it's because she grew up as a spoiled princess, because her father instilled the values of "only you deserve the world, everyone else is just trash" or whether she just is so clueless and oblivious to the pain of others (doubtful on this one).

Sometimes, I have to wonder what Dev saw in Rishita. I wish there was some sort of origin story. Even Shiva being seemingly nicer (and his watchful gazes towards her) to Raavi in these past few episodes make sense. Poor girl almost died, so of course he's shaken. But Dev and Rishita? I have no idea...

Makes me think the OS written by @aishwarya12joys might come true in some aspect of Dev regretting his decision (if not feeling remorseful) of marrying Rishita.

WOW..you are a writer indeed!!

Now that you have brought it up, I do wonder what Dev saw in Rishita. Its something that I never questioned.

As much as I want to write some sort of origin story between Dev and Rishita, I cannot do that. I would probably not do any justice to Rishita, and instead, make everyone on this forum hate her more than we already 😂, so if someone else wants to take up the challenge, I would be more than happy!

Though, now that I'm thinking it, Rishita probably loved Dev first. Maybe she saw him walking down the hallway and immediately thought, "He's mine!" and the rest is history. I can't imagine a story of Dev liking Rishita first. He always seemed like the type of person to fall in love with anyone who is kind to him. And I can totally see Rishita being kind to only him because she's obsessed.

In fact, maybe if Raavi confessed to Dev earlier, Dev would've liked Raavi instead. Too bad Raavi is stuck with Shiva. That man will be a lot harder to romance.

I think this is one of the issues with love marriages. Initially the couple is in their own bubble by themselves, only when it comes to marriage, they realise that there is so much more factors to a relationship than just the two of them.

I echo everything you've said, Mel! Can't stand her double standards. Can someone show her the mirror please? Glad Shiva asked her what we all were thinking. That she's in live with you for two years then how come she hasn't realized that they live middle class lifestyle.

@Milkcakejamun, I always wondered why does she not have any empathy for anyone as she herself has been in a house hold where her choices weren't respected. It was all about what her Dad and Bui wanted. You'd think she'd see that as a fault and try to be nicer and more considerate. But your explanation makes perfect sense. She probably picked up this selfish trait from her father. She followed into footsteps of her father and what she saw and was raised with vs actually thinking for herself, reflecting on that lifestyle and wanting to change things. Can you imagine her being the same as she is as she becomes a mother?

I do wonder what Dev saw in Rishita. I honestly don't see one good thing in her. She's always shown selfish tendencies, have spoke about his bhabhi interfering in their couples time, etc. Did red flags never go off that she'd never fit on their lifestyle? Her fighting for her love doesn't count as that happened in later stage.

I think raindropsroses may have a point. But I do wonder, how do you not see this in two years. Unless Rishita acted/was different initially.

I am into counselling.

I always tell couples that being in love & staying under the same roof are two different things .sharing life & being all lovy dovy are two different things. That's y I guess until the base of the relationship isn't strong the relationship faces its consequences later on.

Idk man, this post makes complete sense. I was ticked off by how selfish she was today and you know what she makes no attempt to hide it. Honestly, I feel she never really cared or thought seriously about the living forever together part of marriage. Her mind was fixed on one thing - get married to Dev.

Exactly it's like kids having obsession for toys. Nothing more to it.

Had she loved him she would understand what place does Dhara hold in his life.

Plus she would sympathize with Raavi.she was almost on the verge of loosing Dev.

Love is when you value the people who matter to your partner.

That's y Gaura have great marriage. They value what matters to their partner

To be fair to Rishita although it pains me...

They never expected these Circumstances, Dhara misunderstanding „R Calling“ for Raavi and getting wedding talks started etc

She never expected to be cut of by her parents hence needing adjustment.

Thats something her character need to learn.

But for now she definitely has double standards and is annoying.
