I feel it’s a bit up for interpretation because he’s said conflicting things.

That's not what the layman would understand. For the normal viewers they have to dumb it down and establish that oh see he doesn't sleep with them, he just spends time with them...This is a classic case depicted in a lot of movies too.

I am unsure of the relationship part....Rest i agree, Humsha will take Namdar's place as in she might become his personal secretary and then as they spend more time together, Bilal will have conversations with her....I guess, he will relapse and keep discussing about Sadaf which will hurt Humsha even more.

That’s what I’m thinking, he’s going to keep pissing her off by talking about Sadaf

Romantic Reveries

Ok question for you guys. Do you think that Bilal doesn’t sleep with these escorts? I just assumed they meant he doesn’t sleep with them every night and is looking for companionship without commitment more than anything. Like sleeping with them isn’t his main motive for seeking them out. He’s lonely and needs to blurt things out when he’s drunk and these women listen. However I cannot believe that he hires these women and never sleeps with them especially when alcohol is involved. I think they just didn’t want him to sound like a $ex addicted creep. I mean it’s fine for a piece of fiction but even I was thinking that I could never be with a guy who was sleeping with random women every night…it would just bother me too much. So I don’t think he’s a virgin but I don’t think he’s promiscuous either.

Bilal Abdullah is definitely not a virgin. They can show whatver shit they want to cover up this, but the fact is he has been sleeping around. You just can't show your billionaire 30 year old male lead just playing peg peg with those girls. Also nm uncle didn't wanted sadaf to work for him because he knew about Bilal's affairs with multiple women. Not to forget bilal himself confirmed that he has affairs with women. Moreover, the achi ladki buri ladki angle doesn't fit in if the girls with him are just talking him to sleep.

And it would have been even more interesting and attractive to see a playboy changing himself for the pure pious girl he loves. Itv has romanticized this trope and get sure shot blockbuster pairing and show. Idk what's the problem with ptv that they can't own up the fact that their male lead is a non virgin.

Agar apne ml ko itna hi bechara aur achha dikhana tha toh you shouldn't have shown him hanging out with multiple girls at his house. Isse achha ek bhai ya dost ka character add kar lete with whom bilal could share his thoughts and feelings.

I think he will be sympathetic towards her feelings and they will have the Devdas-Chandramukhi type relationship. We see them having a date or sitting intimately near the pool.

One things is clear...Bilal Abdullah isn't having physical relationships with those girls..he can be flirty, friendly with those girls..but the dialogues in epi 10 were enough to indicate that he isn't having physical relationships.

I m liking the way how the revelation of Bilal's past is coming out...I mean everyone will have different perspective..and things to discuss.

But Bilal is definitely not involved physically with those girls..!!

a man hanging out with his bhai or a dost is certainly not someone who can be perceived wrong smiley37

It depends totally on the writer, what he intended to show...a man perceived wrong by the society and the people around him while he actually isn't bad OR a man who was wayward and thus rightly perceived by the society changes for the woman she loves...The latter is pretty done and dusted route.

So, it's not about what can and can't happen. It's fiction and anything is possible! KRQ loves showing male lead as a hero & justify him in every sense

Bilal might have mommy issues. That's why he needs a woman to pour out his heart and he is so fixated on the achi/buri ladki concept.

I don’t see Humsha as rational at all. She spends all day gossiping in the office and is too invested in other people’s business. It has to be because she likes Bilal so I think I understand where it’s coming from. She could have easily calmed Ammar down if she wanted to. Sadaf told her she has a problem and nothing is going on between her and Bilal but she’s letting Ammar think whatever he wants. There’s more to her but right now, her and Ammar remind me of a couple of gossipy high schoolers who struggle to keep their emotions in even at the workplace. What was that hug at the end with Ammar crying and Humsha soothing him? The workplace rumour should be about these two having an affair, not Bilal and Sadaf.

So far I haven’t found anything Humsha has said to be a nonsensical as the other characters. If her friend got 8 crores and a 3 month leave on her first day of work, yes this is something to worry about. Is she not supposed to talk about it? When she first finds out she rightfully thinks that Ammar is exaggerating and Sadaf is pulling his leg. Because the amount is so absurd. Then when she finds out it’s real, her first reaction is that Sadaf is in trouble and there’s a problem - she doesn’t jump to the affair. And we know it’s true that yes Sadaf has a problem. She confronts Sadaf about it the very next day and what does Sadaf madam say? Oh she’s going to America for shopping smiley44 Then she flaunts the 8 crore again and says leave bhi sanction ho jaye gi. That’s when Humsha got worried. Aur banta bhi hai. Even if she doesn’t have a crush on Bilal, how tactless Bilal and Sadaf are being about this whole thing, any workplace rivalry ke ingredients puray ke puray hain. Then she tells Bilal too that 3 months leave on first day is a ridiculous request - and we all know it is, when you don’t know what’s going on. Phir she even makes the effort to confront Sadaf again to warn her what image is being created of her because of the 8 crore and 3 month leave. To which Sadaf had the clownery to act surprised. She also believed Sadaf when she says keh baad main bataaon gi. Same thing she said to Ammar. That when problem will get solved then she will let them know.

In all this the only illogical thing is Sadaf not confiding in her friends. And expecting blind trust in return when she herself did exactly what they’re imagining her to have done.

But yes that hug was weird. Therapist / messenger bani hoyi hai Humsha. But it’s obvious writer wants to drag the reveal. It makes no sense as to why this has to be hidden from Sadaf’s friends.

I have found Wahaj's performance a bit inconsistent in two areas.

One is his portrayal of an alcoholic character, which I found somewhat surface-y. I feel Wahaj has performed scenes showing BA being various levels of drunk, but he has not played BA as an alcoholic character. Even if I set aside my opinion on how an alcoholic should have behaved in E1 and go with Wahaj's interpretation, I did not see the alcoholic character I saw in E1-2 carried through in subsequent episodes. When BA cuts down his intake in E3 and later stops, we don't see how the alcoholic in E1-2 is managing these changes. Even if there were no dialogues or specific scenes to show the journey of his recovery from addiction, I was hoping for his body language or movements to convey this. Like hand tremors, absently reaching for a glass when stressed, or being easily irritable/anxious, etc.

Second is some of his love looks. The eye lock at Sadaf's house seemed very consistent with BA's character and felt very authentic. Otherwise, the blushing, finger-writing, wide-eyed stares feel too much like how an immature 14-year-old would behave. I dunno if the issue is whether these expressions do not match BA's character or whether it is because I still don't fully buy into the intensity of BA's feelings since the show did not properly set up or show the evolution of BA's love. Honestly, how BA goes from leering in E1 to this sassi punhoon / heer ranjha level ka pyaar was a journey I thought we would be getting to see (but never got). Anyway, it is clear now the show seems more interested in charting the evolution of Sadaf's love for BA, while BA is meant to have only one static setting throughout, which is unquestioning eternal selfless love where he will do anything for Sadaf. But even if the writing was not going to show how BA's feelings evolved, I wish Wahaj's expressions could have shown a more progressive development of BA's feelings of love & ardor over the first 10 episodes instead of jumping straight to the blushing, giggling, finger writing, and piano ka rona dhona from E3 onwards.

Besides these two areas, I feel Wahaj has performed other expressions of anger, remorse, confusion, anxiety, sadness, angst, etc. pretty well.

Exactly. His behavior is one second that of a green school boy and the next it’s all poise and composure. I expected more subtle conveying of his feelings and we know Wahaj can do that really well. I find it excessive and unnecessary and takes away from his feelings rather than elevating it. It makes me NOT take him seriously. In front of Sadaf while they’re talking, Wahaj ki body language is good. But the gaze and some choices you mentioned undermine his feelings imo. This isn’t exactly the first girl he’s seen and nor have their interactions been such that I can believe the feelings. It’s confusing a lot of reviewers too that do his feelings seem real? Because we never see the journey but are expected to just “accept” it. I’m sorry but Naamdaar Sahab ki beti hona is not enough. So the connection isn’t there.

The scene with the escort where he flips was another one for me. That made him look manic. Maybe that’s the point but idk I feel it was too exaggerated again. And the editing didn’t help. They should have edited it better and lingered on him a while longer. It was just … off. Rest of the scene was great and the actress who plays the escort was a good actor and beautiful as well. They had nice back and forth in their talk.

The alcohol aspect doesn’t bother me actually but I know his portrayal has had some mixed reactions. For me since it’s so uncommonly shown for a hero and people don’t really have too much knowledge about withdrawal symptoms and the nuances in that - Wahaj kept to the two extremes. Really drunk or sober. Yes I would have lovedddd to see the nuances but I feel neutral audience ko shayad woh nuances itne samajh na aate. Another benefit of the doubt I can give him is that the script doesn’t have a proper withdrawal thing yet for the character. He’s thinking about it but not actually quitting. Abhi bhi he’s thinking about it and cutting down. Not exactly quitting yet. The script has to specifically deal with it in order for it to be portrayed like that.
