I believe it almost has 40 episodes because there is so much to be shown, the main story hasn't even started yet. Wahaj scenes with hira that we saw in teaser 4, bilsad scenes and their progression, ammar sadaf marriage rituals, then dania and ammar angle, later on bilsad marriage.

And the way things are going, and the slow direction, all these sequences cannot be packed in mere 24 episodes.

No way it is 34 episodes... we don't even know the main story yet...geo has a unique problem in their hands for the first time, - how to speed up the episodes instead of slowing them down

Just start the love story dammit!!!!

IMO its too early to say why she signed the show...before completion of the whole series..but even Mann Mayal was like this...lots of rona dhona,leads sharing less screentine together in some episodes in between...but the end product was beautiful..!!

Idk why people say other actresses have turned it down when no such news had come out. Kaddu uncle had directly announced the show with mahaj and before that only wahaj being a part of it was confirmed later news articles came about Maya and no other actresses.

Also why shouldn't Maya do this show? I mean she has the meatiest role and highest screentime. In these 10 episodes she was onscreen for 70%. Unlike our male lead, she has equations with every single character of this show. I feel this is the best comeback project of her. Even neutrals and reviewers are praising her performance keeping the hate brigade aside.

but mann mayal didn't have the problematic aspects. i don't recall seeing maya do any problematic scripts before. ronay dhonay wale kiye hain usne kaafi but none i remember that were misogynistic or regressive. even her worst scripts were better than average ptv scripts. pehki si mohabbat even started out very promising bus baad mai rull gaya.

Except the you give me 8cr and I'll do anything, what is even so problematic about this show?Okay the zeher and gunah part might be controversial but even sh said that the gunah bit was said in consideration to sleeping around.

I feel people aren't able to separate the character of the writer with the writing of his show. Also since it's wahaj every single detail is analysed and ripped apart.

Even gm had problematic dialogues but since nobody gave a damn about that show, it's aspects aren't discussed, whereas even haters are interested in smd so it gets dissected and discussed a lot.

In my personal opinion,I dont have problem with problematic scripts as long as one of the lead character is not toxic or hypocrite....

Sorry but I dont find this drama as problematic as people are pointing it out to be being a regular PTV viewer... I have seen way more regressive drama getting praised by people for amazing writing (dont want to take the names) .

And for Maya,I dont think except that first meet scene,there will be more problematic things in future.. only because of one scene she can't reject the role completely
