@Italic Cool enough. Then it shouldn't be a problem if those reviewers or his non fans judge his choices or acting.

Who are these actors who get shows with good margin to perform on a good channel? Mj, zard, even qej are backed by hum. Bilal, sajal and yumna have good connection with hum so they are offered those show's. So there's no question about wahaj rejecting those shows as he doesn't work with them.

There are many stars, like danish, ayeza, feroze, sherry who work on commercial shows and don't care about criticism. Wahaj for now is following the similar pattern. He did 22 qadam altho he had less scope because he genuinely liked the script. I'm sure if he gets a good story, he'd surely do that. We've seen him say that screenspace doesn't matter what matters to him is the impact of the character.

It's called taking accountability. If the show and character is good, credit goes to only actor, if the show is bad then it is makers responsibility. It doesn't work like that.

Mann jogi dealt with dark concept with love story as side track, GM received huge criticism for selling love story for supposed to be crime show.

Again you are missing the point...You said Wahaj is not signing different stuff as you found Mein similar to SMD to which I pointed out that it's different..Marketing of a movie is not equivalent to marketing for a show.. What has Wahaj got to do with marketing of a project?

I quoted those examples for stating how these projects also had love stories..Most shows have love stories...It's the genre which matters and execution! KMKT was also a love story which worked so well coz of it's execution.

The first thing I noticed while watching Tere Bin and MPHT simultaneously is how different the characters were and how much range Wahaj had….so there’s that.

I get it, not everyone is loving his choices and that’s fine. I personally feel the viewpoints are exaggerated but that’s my opinion which will be different than others. Also I understand that many may not be enjoying SMD and have some legitimate concerns…I do too, people have seen my rants on here. However there are some of us that enjoy it on the whole and it doesn’t mean that’s it’s perfect and without flaws. I may still have my rants but I don’t understand the need to write it off or underplay any of its success in any way. I feel if it’s not enjoyable at all, you can stop watching it…i mean it’s entertainment at the end of the day and should serve its purpose. You can always come back later if the story picks up and it interests you. Or when it’s done, I do that with most shows and then just binge watch if it’s worth it.

IKR. Also, criticism is fine tbh but using criticism as a garb to spew hatred is something I find annoying...SMD has it's own flaws for sure but to diss Wahaj for random things makes no sense to me neither does the fact that one hates the show and yet feels the need to continue watching it and then cribbing about it constantly...We watch shows for our enjoyment, if we do not like something, we can always stop watching. Also, Wahaj's filmography is pretty versatile as per me...romance, cause based, thrillers, comedy, horror, he has attempted and done well in all the genres, not something a lot of actors can done...Also, he has signed only SMD after TB, so why such a hullabaloo over his script choices now especially when we don't even know what's next...As far as characters are concerned, I do not see similarities between Murtasim, Saad & Bilal. Do i find him versatile & a solid actor ? YES. Do i want him to do better projects and meatier roles? YES! Do I want him to keep going for different genres? YES!

Strictly my opinion. Let’s respectfully agree to disagree.

A hit Pakistani drama usually checks all the boxes: high TRPs, big YouTube views, social media buzz (good or bad), a solid OST, and great performances. By that standard, SMD is doing fine—maybe the TRPs aren’t breaking records, but they’re decent enough. So why is it already being called a flop when we’re only a third of the way through? If that’s the case, what about dramas like ZNKB (low YouTube views), Nadaan (neither views nor TRPs), Mann Jogi or Kuch Ankahi? Are they flops too? Obviously not. So why harp on SMD endlessly?

Honestly, as viewers, why do we even care about whether a show is a hit or a flop? The real question should be- does it work for me?Whether it’s a profitable venture or not is something only the producers know—not us or anyone on Twitter.

As a Wahaj fan, I’d take him as Bilal in SMD over roles like Ahmed in Idiot, Nadaan or Hamza in JeJwhere he barely has room to perform. Sure, I have issues with SMD too (the pacing, the side characters taking too much screen time), but Bilal and Sadaf make it worth it for me. They’re delivering.

Take last episode’s scenes where they weren’t even in the same frame—so subtle n beautifully done. I can’t wait to see how their story unfolds. Wahaj’s acting just gets me—the way Irfan Khan, Fahadh Faasil, and Dhanush do. It’s the eyes, I swear!

I even tried Yumna’s new show yesterday, and it felt way too cliche, so I dropped it. Simple as that. It either clicks with you, or it doesn’t. Why force yourself to sit through something you don’t like? Watch what works for you and let the rest go!

so much to unpack ..

Come on Swati, smd was promoted month long with 5 teasers. Even now their sm page is filled with only smd posts.

The show, his character has potential but the treatment and execution has ruined it. Haseeb directed the show as standalone sequences. First wahaj ka a to z shoot kar liya, phir maya ka. The first epi scenes were shot 6 months post the beginning of the shoot. He has shot it very haphazardly thats why there's no connect. On editing table thy have clubbed the scenes into episode's and that's why it feels like there's no flow between scenes.

Promotion doesn't mean posting on Instagram, otherwise they should release episodes on Instagram

I agree with this...the scenes are shot separately and we can feel that in the episodes..!!

Ok back to the show for those interested.

I heard a crazy theory that Ammar is actually Bilal Abdullah’s half brother 😱 He hasn’t talked about his family, he was talking about his blood type (although brothers, especially half brothers don’t have to have the same blood type). I’m not sure about this one but thought it was interesting and funny at the same time 🤣
