Every actor opens themselves up for criticism and Wahaj isn’t above that. It’s completely fair to have an opinion about him. If his work doesn’t compel anyone to watch him anymore then it’s also fair to stop watching him. I just think Wahaj gets more scrutiny than other artists and that’s my only point. I think a lot of what is said about him could be said about other artists in different aspects.

This is what I was talking about. It was definitely not friendship. He pined for ayra after his marriage with mubhashira. If he isn't sure whether he loved her or not then why he was sharing same room and bed with her?

I am not questioning his acting just found this weird coincidence. His back to back shows revolving only around love where he is in one side love for most part of the drama. I don't think any of his contemporaries doing only same genre shows back to back.

I think people will get annoyed if we keep talking about Mein so my apologies for keeping this going. I see it differently…Mein wasn’t a romance, it was a battle of egos. It was revolving more over egos taking over rather than love. Yes he was trying but he wasn’t in love…I think he wanted to be but he wasn’t. I do see this one as exception to the one sided love roles. I also think it was his worst choice 🤣

I think we should agree to disagree and get back to SMD before we annoy the whole thread 😆

Even TB sometimes ran in the 9 range but views on YouTube grew so fast within a short period of time. Plus the social media hype for it was hard to compete with. Although MPTH had the highest TRPs, from an international point of view, it was TB that got more attention. My point is, that both are important in their own way. Why are we quick to call a show with decent ratings but low YouTube views a hit, while calling a show with lower TRPs and high YouTube views a flop? And truthfully TRPs seem to be high for a lot of shows at the moment, even those without a big star, but the YouTube views are harder to get. No one is denying the fact that SMD isn’t getting high ratings but I don’t see the point of downplaying its success with YouTube views. Honestly I think the pacing is too slow to watch live.

I agree. Views are important as they are a source of earning. Also one of parameters that the said show has a wide fan base which is not restricted to Pakistan.

I said ratings are more important coz that's where one gets sponsors from for TV. Channels earn a lot from ad revenue.

Views certainly can't be neglected. If a show is getting ratings but not Views or if a show is getting Views but but not ratings, they more or less come in the same category..thoda upar neeche...the ones that get ratings as well as Views are obviously better.

But a lot depends on the channel's GRPs too when it comes to ratings.. Like Green's GRP is low so the shows are bound to get less TV ratings comparatively! If the channel's GRPs are high, that also helps a show get more ratings. Right now ARY & even HUM for that matter I think have higher GRPs than Geo.

How is Mein and SMD comparable ? How are Zaid and Bilal comparable ?

Mein was about personal clashes owing to egos while SMD is about unconditional love....Zaid was a rich boy with an ego who remained clueless throughout as to what he wanted in life and in the end left both the women if I am not wrong.

Bilal is a rich businessman who is lonely, perceived wrong and yet knows how to love unconditionally.

Apart from being rich, there is no similarity between the two characters

The less we discuss about Mein the better 😭😂 Worst character and script as per me. 😭

It wasn't one sided love, they were in love with each other but both weren't strong or mature enough to continue the relationship so it ended

Mein was a story of how all kinds of relationships fail

It was nothing like any of his other shows where leads get together in the climax, even if it doesn't make any sense

@bold Both the shows were promoted as love stories. Mein didn't get promoted as ego clash show. Similarity is his characters murtasim, saad, bilal, zaid (for great extent) being in one sided love. Not saying all characters are same but there is this common trait in all characters played by him recently. It's all about love and mohabbat.

If you feel these genres are different then it is makers who should be blamed for promoting those shows as love stories.

Mein climax was good. But it did looked like one side love because after leads marriage ayra tried to avoid him, it is him who pursued her. She married him for revenge. Mein wouldn't have got such criticism had they didn't promote the show as love story.

You can promote the show in whichever you want but at the end of the day the real story and content is what matters...an actor signs after reading the actual script and not the promo script.

So, yeah Mein's marketing was a disaster. Those who have seen Mein would know there are no similarities between Mein and SMD.

Let's take Tere Bin- Murtasim was an alpha male and it was enemies to lovers class troupe

MPHT - Saad was completely opposite of Murtasim, he was a softie, not an alpha male from a middle class family. It was friends to lovers troupe..unfortunately not executed and written as well as it should have been

Mein - Disaster in every sense

SMD - already explained

Wahaj signed only one project SMD post TB and Bilal as a character is author backed..we have no clue what is his 2nd project after TB. So, one needs to wait and see. Hopefully a completely different genre and role with a script that can resonate with the masses.

Enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, whatever the genre mein is, common thing in characters is ml in one side love with the girl for atleast 70% of the show.

Promotions plays a huge role. Telugu actor Nani admitted why his film failed is because they promoted the movie as rom com, but movie turned out to be family drama which is why audience were disappointed with the movie.

Teasers and promos gives an idea to people on what to expect from a show. He signed mein when he was in hype due to tb.

I do wish he does a critical drama before tb 2 where the show is not centred around mohabbat.
