I need to talk about what's been happening in the Yumhaj fandom lately. I really admire both Wahaj and Yumna and appreciate their work equally, but I don’t ship them romantically. I’ve made a lot of edits of both on Instagram and Twitter, which have generally been well-received. Recently, though, I got a lot of backlash for an edit I made of Wahaj's latest show. I lost 20 mutuals who blocked me just for sharing it, even though it was meant to support Wahaj. The amount of hate Wahaj has been getting lately makes me feel like his fans are few and far between. It’s upsetting to see how quickly people turn against someone they’re supposed to be supporting. There’s also a lot of double standards—Yumna’s aunt posted an AI-edited image of Wahaj and Yumna, which was shared positively by the same fans who criticized "metaphorical married" comment, if the comment is wrong then how that image being shared by aunt is right? Seeing how Wahaj has been treated has been really hard. He’s been accused of using his PR to spread link up rumor, and people have belittled his achievements and made cruel comments about him. This hostility, especially from people who say they’re fans of both Yumna and Wahaj, is deeply troubling. It’s painful to see so much lack of empathy and respect within the fandom. I’ve been dealing with a lot of bullying lately and feel like I have nowhere to turn. A few fan girls were called concubine because they supported Wahaj It’s hard to see how divisive and harsh the fan community can be. Please understand that I’m struggling with these feelings and feeling overwhelmed by all the negativity.

It’s really disheartening to see the same negativity towards Wahaj on the forum. I don’t understand why some people can’t support Wahaj just because they dislike Maya or his recent drama. It’s sad because Wahaj does so much to keep the fandom happy, yet it seems like he doesn’t get the support he deserves. Even in discussions, people are quick to blame his PR or find faults. Wahaj has always given credit to Yumna for his work in "Murtasim" and hasn’t shown any negativity towards her. So why is it that the criticism gets directed at him? If someone doesn’t like his drama or doesn’t get along with his fans, that’s their choice, but it shouldn’t affect Wahaj personally. It feels unfair to take out frustrations on someone who’s genuinely trying to contribute positively. I've been dealing with a lot of bullying and abuse recently, and it’s been eye-opening to see a side of fan culture I wish I hadn’t. It’s disappointing that two remarkable people like Wahaj and Yumna have fans who behave this way. Their fans should be celebrating their achievements and supporting them, but instead, the focus often turns to negativity and drama. It’s a shame that their true value and positive contributions are overshadowed by such behavior.

I have a (useless) suggestion, focus on the positives, like most people on the SMD thread like Wahaj a lot and are excited to watch the teaser. Share your edits on the show thread, we will all appreciate a fellow editor....
