I have started watching Jaan e Jahan and when I saw Savera Nadeem in this, I instantly remembered this old drama of hers. Qaid e tanhai is a 2010 drama starring Savera and Faisal Qureshi.

*spoiler*

The drama is about a happily married couple. Faisal's mother's greed leads to him leaving the country for work. Savera is lonely and Faisal befriends another woman there and is kind of dating her. He sends money but doesn't come back home or spend time talking to his wife/daughter. Eventually, Savera falls for Faisal's friend who takes care of her and her daughter. Provides emotional support and care. This is just a part of the plot, there's a lot more that happens.

*spoiler*

This drama made me realize that Pakistani drama makers were much more courageous back then. There were a lot of thought provoking dramas back then like Kankar, Durre Shehwar etc.

I'm sure many have not watched this drama so I've added the plot line for context.

What do you guys think? Are today's makers hesitant to take up bold subjects?

Old ptv dramas used to be a lot better than today's ott, flashy and same old rehashed plots.

True. A lot of money and effort is being spent on Production, set, actors' look/makeup etc. In old shows, the low production cost is evident but quality was top notch.

Her looks and acting skills both deteriorated.

Such a nuanced drama. Savera Nadeem was so good in it! We can understand how she falls into an emotional affair after being so lonely without her husband. I remember watching it on Zindagi channel.

So sad that she is doing mom roles while Faisal is doing hero roles still. Worse, his onscreen daughter Neelam now plays his pairsmiley44

The bond that Aisha(Savera) has with her onscreen stepson is the cutest aspect of the drama.
