I abandoned it a couple of time before but right now I am in Mikhaal's fever...so that's how I endured the show- though skimmed it generously and finished watching the entire show in less than 3 hours...:)

Me too! I always liked Mikaal. But for some reason, this show has revived the Mikaal fan in me. I love him even more now. He looks so good as Ahmer & his character is so gentle, so soft, so sweet...suits Mikaal perfectly. And he has such good chemistry with Sajal. After Sanam Baloch, this is his best pairing IMO.

Agree with you. Actually the only thing I didn't like about Durr-E-Shehwar was that they made it seem as though a girl had no choice beyond marriage & that ultimately she had to be the one to really compromise or be the one putting in most of the efforts to make the marriage work. What about divorce? What about life beyond marriage? And also I know personally of people who've been patient like Shehwar all these years but yet never got that happy marriage & acceptance.
Despite this, I don't at all dispute DES being called a masterpiece. It is, no doubt. And Shehwar is an inspiration because she rose above society & its challenges to gain her happiness.

That's the whole thing...For generations they convinced women that it is all up to them to have a successful and happy household and the only way to do it is just be patient with men and accept them and everything that they dole out to you...I bet these lessons also were taught by men first and the women folk followed like goat without even questioning...Its one thing not to question but women also have crab mentality...If they are going down they would rather drag the other women along with them too...The older women of the house made sure that the younger women stayed within the rule of the house and not raise their heads above it...For that, they made sure the women don't go out nor get formal education...But if God forbid, a woman did get out of these shackles, they made sure to ostracize that woman and stone her in full public view so that the other women can get a good lesson never to question the system...I am so glad all this is coming to an end...There is still a long way, but it is indeed coming to an end...

DES is about one such woman who raised above the system without rebelling and deviating from it...She sure is an inspiration for the women of any generation who are being oppressed...

Where's everybody? How come no one discussed the episode today?

Just watched the episode.
Glad that Ahmer finally screamed at Maheen. Maheen is such a bitch seriously. And that Mustaqeem guy is also getting on my nerves. Hinna doesn't even show any interest in him & he's so obsessed that he just goes to her house & even makes blank calls to her at night. URGH. We need more Ahmer/Hinna/Hira scenes.

I really like this show but I wish it was more tight-scripted. Its already 15 episodes & we haven't even gotten most of the scenes from the OST & we haven't even gotten to the angst bit of the story. At this rate, seems like the show is going to go on for 30 episodes.

I liked the Ahmer/Hinna scene too. It was really sweet & the beginning bit of the scene was kind of playful with Hinna hiding her gaze & trying to lie while Ahmer clearly knows what she is hiding😳

she wants to read the book i wonder what is in that book that hina wants to read. i like how she get's nervous when ahmer looks at her. ahmer is latoo over hina and we all know hina's feelings.
