Anaya, its not always YOUR OWN self, kisi aur ki bhi zaat hosakti hai... but yes... in this context, it somewhat means that =)

Jab woh kehti hain "ab mujhe zaat ki chah hain, toh mujhe zaat kyun nahin milti".

Is it possible to explain this.. I think I get it kind of.. but then its a bit blurry? Madat mile ghi??

That means that she was being spiritual there, she was trying to seek herself within that mud.

So when that.. man says.. wujood ki chah kyn kar rahi ho, zaat ki chah karo.. He's reffering to Meekal in that scene..

Meekal (pata nahin dramein mein kya naam hain) ki chah kyun kar rahi hain.. zaat ki chah karein..
Like apni karein.. could it also mean. K khuda ki chah karon.. insaan ki nahin?

Zaat = your inner self...kinda like your soul. So it's not just YOU..but kisi ki bhi zaat ho sakti hai, get it? Like "mujhe uski zaat se koi parwah nahi" = "I can care less about him/her". Ughhh English is so limited...you can NEVER fully translate the exact thing from Urdu.

And Hinnu, what you got from google is ALSO correct..zaat also means "caste" like I'm a Memon and we have different "caste" within us which are our "zaat" too 🤣
