The show does get awesome responses on social media.
But I have seen that most IFians are the ones liking lovey-dovey stuff or atleast a show which has a love story.
I don't wanna term them as escapists but handling dark-gritty drama is not everyone's cup of tea, that's what's happening at IF.
We can just be happy that we are doing our bit to keep the show's forum alive here

Yeah. I don't know too much about the social media attention, but here, I agree with you. If there is a genre that has come up ever since the soap opera genre started attracting criticism, it is this brand of typical, uninspiring, and sometimes ridiculous love stories that are hailed as path-breaking for some strange reason. But I guess teenagers form most of the population here, and they like such stuff.
Anyhow, I love this show and we probably just need to make the best of what we have. :)

Hey i wont lie.I do watch a dance based show on the same channel.I love that simply bcos i luv dancing. But i luv paanch also maybe bcos somewhere it is near to reality. We all face lots of troubles and pain.So most of us watch TV for mere entertainment. But paanch gave us a taste of real problems which should be encouraged and more such shows should come which give us some msg.
So i think we all should watch paanch but please dont say that other shows are bad i know they are just for masti...but that is also jaruri.
PS_i know i spoke non sense chappals are welcome

Nope. Not nonsense at all. You are actually talking to an ex-D3 fan here. In fact, D3 really was one path-breaking show that, according to me, went downhill. Not speaking for anybody else. I wasn't trying to imply that there aren't good shows out there. I wasn't trying to say that all love stories are stupid or trying to judge the people who watch them. I myself would prefer a light-hearted show over a drama series, provided it has substance.

I just think that indian television, in general, is going through a phase of mediocrity. The spirit to do something really path-breaking is just...lost. And when shows do come up with something different, with a bunch of actors that do give everything to the show, they suffer. And THAT I find unfair.

i think niharika has spoken the truth. the show's forum was at peak during valentine's day and so the ratings. indian viewers do expect romance to fill in. thrillers are very difficult to get success..atleast Paanch is a hit

they should have given D3 a seasonal break. why comprimising the content just for MONEY ...
the same thing will happen with Sadda HAq too...daily soaps are bound to suffer with content if they work 18 hrs a day that's truly pathetic !

high time indian TV should think abt giving breaks

Seasonal break should be introuduced in India...but alas indian pph only care for money so less hopes for some path breaking decisions.
