Karisma Tanna looks sadly at her damaged car
On Thursday morning, Karisma Tanna (Indu of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi) was on her way to work. She was sitting in the back seat of her month-old, silver-coloured Tata Innova.

At the Chincholi Bunder road signal in Malad, while waiting for the light to turn green, a BEST bus came from behind and rammed into her car, damaging the bumper and causing a huge dent to the door.

No excuse, no sorry

Recalling the incident, Karisma says, "I have no words to describe how furious I am at the attitude shown by the bus driver. Not only did he bang my car, but he didn't care about stopping to check the damage caused, leave alone having the decency to apologise."

She says the bus driver was completely at fault. She goes on to reveal that there was lot of traffic all around her car and her driver was extra careful in keeping the car at one side of the lane.

"There was this woman driving a jeep who was cramming us up from one side, so the driver was trying to find some space on the other side. Just as the signal turned from red to green, this BEST bus came honking from behind and scratched one side, hitting the bumper as well."

Empathising with Kishore

Karisma recalls reading about the incident that happened with Kishore Shahane.

"I read about something similar happening with her in Mid Day. Something needs to be done about this, these guys cannot treat the road like their own," she fumes. As far the state of her car goes, she says, "I am feeling terrible about my car, I haven't used it much since I got it. There will be major repair work to be done on it now."

Call for action

When asked why she didn't go to the cops she says, "It happened so fast, that I couldn't even take the bus number or his number plate down. I think there needs to be an independent organisation for citizens that takes cares of issues like this. There are too many bus accidents happening these days, someone needs to put an end to all this."
