Humanity - For the last 4-5 episodes, the debate has been on this word. It is one word with such a vast scope that all of us could go on and on. In context of POW, the life of common man in India is not comparable to that of Hussain. That's 100% true. But for Siddhant and Afreen, the loss of Hussain is personal. He was a child, he idolized Dushman and his Apa, showered them with his brand of love, innocence, warmth and mischievousness and probably acted as the bridge between them. It is but natural for both of them to feel grief and anger, wanting to avenge him. But is it then right that to avenge him, millions of others have to die, many of them who would share their name and fate with Hussain? No, it is not. Mostly because we are all prisoners of our birth - Hussain would have probably become a terrorist. And killing so many people would not reverse the death of Hussain. He would still be buried dead, and now we would have multiplied the grief and loss in so many families.

Siddhant/ Sadiq has suddenly become one of the most hated characters on this show. Siddhant is the golden child. In 2-3 episodes, he became a part of our lives. His potrayal of a carefree, lovable, passinate, focused man-child left us sympathetic to all he had to face. We rooted for him, wanted a happy ending for him. Sadiq on the other hand is heartless, cruel. But is he really? His readiness to sacrifice the lives of so many stems from his love and loyalty to memory of Hussain. What a paradox he is? Tell me one instance where he has himself harmed any of his loved ones. People will bring up Rohan, but did he really. He didn't finish the story. It is reality. Rohan is 10 years old. Will he not get access to news? Wouldn't he be aware of what death is - how it strikes irrespective of caste, creed, gender, age. Yesterday too he mentions his Mamu. His love for his Mamu stands. Shobha too got a message, which sent her reeling to the last farewell between the siblings. It is to be noted that her mind went back to his promise of keeping Vikram safe. He addressed Vikram as Mr Singh - not Sir as he usually did, introduced himself as Sadiq - so that Vikram does not get emotional associating his as Siddhant - his student, brother-in-law. Afreen has burnt the card. Spoke about Badshah only when her child's life was on line. Was ready to flee the country before that.Does she know more? People have begun to hate her due to her happy reaction to the news of Operation Badshah. Was it at mention of Thadani or her pride for her husband's maksad? I have written before. I don't expect anything else from her. She has been indoctrined with jihad, is in love with Sadiq. Whether she accepts Siddhant or not, its her call. But Siddhant does love her, and that makes it valid and true for me as he accepts her with all her flaws.

I have been following Anurag's twitter for the last 15 days because he shares hints about the to be aired episode. His character is so mysterious that I have been wanting to decode in case he left a cryptic message. He has last posted on March 1, stating that he will be off media for a week. He knows his audience well. He expected this reaction. That tells me story is still incomplete. Right from that start the writers have not let me down, they have delivered. And Siddhant - he was foremost Shobha's Siddhant for me, always will be. His singing of Aave mere naal in front of Lala, his folding his hands in gratitude in front of Naaz when he comes back, his tears when meeting Shobha, his memory of Afreen and Hussain. I have faith in him and his understanding of love. He is in a destroyer mode now. But what does he seek to destroy? We don't know yet.

This is personal to share, not trying to bring religion here - but I have immense faith in Lord Shiva - it came to me very late. It took me time to understand him, but now that I do, I am never tempted to let it go. For me he is kind and benevolent, but he is also worshiped in his Raudra avatar. That's true too, isn't it. It's comes down to faith. And for me humanity is also about faith. Every day so many things are coming in news, it shakes you, but we all live to see another day. And that day brings with a bit of wonderful news too. We discover light, knowledge and kindness. That's the human will to survive, all of us see the worse in this world but in the end believe in the best of humanity.

very well written and infact a big breather for this weekend..This entire series has become so close to heart..be it due to the suffering or attachment of the wins the POWs had so far..Lets just hope that Sid's bigger mission Badshah is infact to save humanity and not revenge ..

Funny how Connection with someone drives you crazy .

Siddhant Salute to the National Flag can't be just made a Mockery .

Lala and Siddhant are interlinked ,if one is decoded that will be enough .
There is more to Lala -Siddhant Relation ,these two have always intrigued me .

Siddhant Thakur ..Rajasthan Rifles ..Indian Army ..!!
Don't prove my faith wrong Please ..!!!

Lovely post.
I still have tiny-winy hopes left.
The optimistic in me is still saying that there's more to what meet the eyes. The heart doesnt want to accept what the mind already knows.
They cant show him making the mockery of his salute to the Tricolour :(
They cant show him so heartless not to care even a bit about his sister if not for the country.
I hope they do justice to Siddhant Thakur & Sadiq dies :(

Very very true. The salute wasn't fake. This reminds me of his speech and the words he uses. Dil se, Dimaag se, Aatma se- it was too deep to be fake. It is a representation of how he perceives himself. He is an Indian. What he is doing now has to be for India too. Unless the creatives themselves destroy all they have worked for in the last 100 episodes.

This show is so fast that we have almost forgotten Lala, but he is a part of this too. Let's see, the connection needs to be explained. The sd card must have something else, as Afreen kept on watching it again and again.

I just remembered that Sadiq when he is acting out his evil self in front of someone(Imran spying confrontation, Thadani spy bust), his hand movements display his inner turmoil. Sid when he gave the speech on podium was very much in control of himself. Is it only me who has noticed it?

Love your last line Sadiq dies but Siddhant lives. I hope so too.

I would say the mind juggles but the heart chooses.

Yes ...the hand movement ,the collar pull is always there ,where he is in his Sadiq Avatar .

Also there has been ALWAYS Mirror ref thrown whenever Sadiq was shown . Like Whenever Sadiq was shown to viewers it has been always through Mirror .
I am expecting one Mirror scene again .
Let's see ...

What a beautiful post ! Loved it...it is so full of hope.

I agree with each and every word u have said and will ad a few more points

I still cannot forget during Yusuf-Sadiq confrontation..Sid kept strangling Yusuf..he was full of rage that moment...it was very real and raw and there was no scope for pretence...Afreen kept calling him Sadiq Sadiq but not once he paid heed to her.
A moment of realisation happened for Afreen, she paused and called SIDDHANT...she called only once and Sid turned and responded to that name !
He was SIDDHANT THAKUR in that very moment..that was a real poignant moment.
If he was Sadiq like he told Vikram then why did he responded to SIDDHANT.
Did the writers f**ked up or it was a meaningful poignant moment.

The way he saluted the National flag...how can that be a pretence.

All the things he said to Naaz 'Shobha di intezar karengi, ek soldier ki jaan uske desh ki ho jati hai' 'Country above all'
The way Siddhant introduced himself 'SIDDHANT THAKUR RAJASTHAN RIFLES INDIAN ARMY' with so much proud..eas that also a pretence

Main dil , dimag aur Atma se Hindustani hoon..was this also a pretence

The way he hugged her sister...were those tears also a pretence

The way he sang Ave Mere Naal infront of Lala was that also a pretence ?

If all these moments were pretence and meant nothing to him then I would say WRITERS PLAYED A VERY CRUEL GAME.
They wanted us to get connected and emotionally invested with his character 'Siddhant Thakur'

Did u guys notice that we never got to see entirely how Imaan and Sartaj were before they got imprisoned.
But end entire episode was based on who and how Siddhant was 17 years ago...we got to see a 21 year old young boy who was full of life , a guy who wanted his sis to be happy , who acted as a cupid for Vik and Shobha.
Who because of his senior's one small mistake got captured...who cared so much for his friends and fellow soldiers that he told Vikram 'Sir mere 2 soliders aage trapped hain..I can't leave them behind..u know my motto 'all in Sir '
He went ahead in order to try and save his team members, he did not leave them alone...he did not leave his buddies behind

Then we got an entire episode where we got to see how Siddhant Thakur was in jail...he was still so patriotic , so loyal , still hopeful , still loved his didi to the core , in Sartaj's words 'HE LIVED HIS DIDI' 'Vo apko jeete the'
Ap meri didi se milne aur unhe kehne 'Siddhant lada , he fought well' 'Imaan sir main lada na inse bravely '
Yes he never once gave up , he indeed fought bravely !
He himself told Sartaj 'Sartaj bhai ending change nahi hogi , JAI ko jana hoga'
He was so forgiving , so understating, full of humanity.

Then we saw how Siddhant became Sadiq - and mind u he became Sadiq not because he was brainwashed , not because he was forced to but because of a child's love
Even as Sadiq he was so human that he bonded with Hussain and he loved him unconditionally..his death tore him apart.

He even questioned Lala 'Nahi mara hota agar apne ye khel na khel hota' 'Sartaj ne vahi kia jo main chahta tha' 'Maine bhi a Imaan Sir ko chuna tha'

There was a difference between Yusuf and Sadiq..Sadiq was not a brainwashed Jehadi like Yusuf.
He deeply cared...he told Yusuf 'ek begunah masoom pe goli chalane se accha hai mujh pe chala'
He told Ibrahim to ask all the doctors and patients to stay in their rooms as no bloodshed should happen..if Yusuf wants to meet me he will come directly.
Why will a brainwashed Jehadi care for human life...for hum Maksad is important.
So , all these things were PRETENCE ?
Then writers wanted us to emotionally connect with SIDDHANT THAKUR...Why ?
So they can simply rip our hearts out when needed to ad thrill in the story ?
If writers wanted to show that a soldier can turn into a brainless Jehadi then why bother to show Sadiq as a righteous man...why not show him like Yusuf.
Why not show that Sadiq is completely different from Sid.

Why play with our emotions like this.

Like I had earlier said if Sid indeed is a terrorist and dies so I will not rejoice on his death..I cannot rejoice the way I did when he saluted the flag...my heart will bleed for the SIDDHANT THAKUR whom we all got to know and love immensely , my heart will bleed out for Shobha - who never got a second chance , for the wife whose mannat remain unfulfilled and for the Unborn who will not see his father's face
For me even if one soldier turns into a Jehadi it is a win of Lala...for me watching Vikram kill Sadiq - a terrorist will not be a happy ending coz this very Sadiq was once our Siddhant Thakur.
I know it is a long rant but I can't help it ! Have got too attached to this show and Siddhant Thakur

All these things give me a hope that there might be something more than meets the eye.
I am stil hoping for a miracle and praying that Veera's words come true.
Else I would say we all got tricked by the cruel game of writers who used our emotions to show us a Brutal reality...if this is the caw I will be the most disappointed.

P.s. - If Sid is Sadiq then he is surely going to die...but even if he is Sid still I am afraid that he will not survive and we will be heartbroken one way or the other...😭
Let's see what is in store for us
