my theory is extended version of @memad's speculation , where she was guessing imaan and sartaj's escape was planned by sid , he must have told lala to free them to use them later to kill mehta , where he knew all along that they will not do so ... but he didnot expect salim to die in the process , hence he was pained and broke the mirror in helplessness

after that failed attack ISI must have planned something big for mehta / thadani , and now he is here to take care of that

but he will be misunderstood in the process and will get shot by both indian and pakistani side

Actually we fans want him to be the true Indian Sid and wants him to hv happy ending with Afreen. Don't know how makers gonna show both things taking place with conviction😕

Sidiq(because i really don't know wether he is sid or Sadiq anymore) has some big agenda for sure. I was quite skeptical about him during the time he escaped.I couldn't quite trust him.I was waiting for a sly smile or a detail that everyone missed or we tend to miss.The moment i realised that they had not shown Lala's death directly I had a hunch thwt things are not gonna be what its be shown as.That became true.Now that they are showing that his alleged agenda is to destroy his own country ..the one he held so dear,the one thing that kept him strong through all those years of torture,I can't quite buy that.He has something big .Something beyond those lines of L.o.c .His love for Afreen is steadfast.His love for hussain too was strong.To think this love pushed a man to murdering a patriot with in him is questionable.Principles and loyalty...why are the clashing ?Or are they even clashing?Has one of those sides shown the white flag already?or is the fight still going on?It felt out of charater for Sid to go psycho on Rohan.If Rohan reminds him of Hossain i would have expected that avuncularity to be more strong.Something that would have developed into a tender bond .A glimpse of which we saw in thier first meeting.

Lala was a dying man so Sid cannot be held responsible for his death.

Afreen's mom's death was unfortunate and again Sid had tried to get the to a safer place but luck was not in their favour.

I don't see why Afreen will not understand Sid.

If she has humanity then she will surely understand.
