"We Don't Leave Behind Bodies Or Buddies"
This is one thing that Indian Army follows like a patthar ke lakeer.. in fact every army follows this. You don't leave behind your fellow soldiers, either Dead or Alive during war times.
How poignant was the pregnancy revelation scene..
"Hamara Hussain"
"I am pregnant"
Sid stumbled back against the wall on hearing this. He put his hand over her stomach comforting the little little one, comforting Afreen... trying to believe the fact himself.
"Are you happy?"
It was the best news he had ever heard he said but it was the saddest news he had ever heard he thought. The Soldier and the mere Human started a face off within him and he staggers off to a secluded corner.
Siddhanth knew he had to destroy this terror outfit before he left but how will he now leave behind his own blood, body and soul? how will he leave behind his own child? How could he leave behind his wife who was his own? ... the child was his.. Afreen was his... and we never leave behind bodies or our buddies..
Sadiq and Siddanth were fighting. In truth he was human but he was taught to live by the Principles. Sadiq (truthful) and Siddanth (Principles) were clashing.
Then he remembered Hussain's words..
"Ghav bhar rahe hai... you will leave us now.. tum dushman ho"
Man is humbled when he is hurt but in good times he goes back to his cruel living.. it's the tragedy of human life that came across in these words of Hussain. One can't live in this world as a mere truthful human.. the harshness of life drowns us ultimately. Siddhanth will drown Sadiq.
He remembered Afreens words too...
"Never trust them.. they will stab you in the back and leave"
Yes he was there to stab them all.. but how could he stab his own? If for a moment we forget borders and religion how different are we from each other? We all are governed by prejudiced Principles that teach, condition us to hate each other.. but stripped off the layers of worldiness in truth we are just humans at the basic level, needing love, care and warmth. For Sid Afreen was his and for Afreen Sadiq was hers. But Afreen always lived with a fear that the Siddhanth inside him will over rule Sadiq and what Afreen always feared of happening Sadiq always knew it will happen... eventually it happened
How badly Sid wants to become Sadiq and live happily with Afreen and his child.. but he cannot.. he can't go back to his true self because the Principles have changed him so much that he is at the point of no return. The Principles of a soldier and of war..
Sadiq sometimes walks on the wrong Siddanth.. is it too late to change? Is something for Sadiq to understand. Sadiq and Siddanth are inside every person.. be it a common man, soldier or even a terrorist.. Principles will always rule the truth unless we change it and let the truth rule the Principles... What is Sadiq? the truth is in humanity.. What is Siddanth? It's principles without prejudices.
This is what I take back from this scene, Afreen, Hussain, from Sadiq and Siddanth.. with boundaries blurred, religions forgotten, prejudices destroyed every person is our body and Buddy...
Got carried away by the emotions...
Total love and appreciation for the writers, actors and crew of the POW team..so much talent in one place is really rare to find. They are all winners.. ❤️
