****

I watched again...

And the foreshadowing with Afreen's character calling him Sadiq/Siddhant suggests that Siddhant is not Siddhant but Sadiq.

Go back to yesterday's episode. Check the fight between Sadiq and Yusuf. When Sadiq has an upper hand over Yusuf and is tightening the noose around Yusuf's neck... they showed Sadiq having flashes of him being beaten to death by Sartaj. He only saw that. And he felt an anger, that he fed into his fight with Yusuf. Hence Afreen shouting Sadiq did not help because it just fuelled his anger more.

But Afreen has understood that the only way she can appeal to the human in him is when she calls him Siddhant (who is lost somewhere deep inside this new Sadiq), and its only then that his flashes change and he sees himself as not the person who was tortured but the soldier he was originally. the editing is so beautiful that his life as Siddhant a person is a mere hit and miss glimpse. So his family... does not appear much in his thoughts, its only him as a soldier.

I really am convinced that Sadiq is really Sadiq, and he is working on Operation Badshah in all honesty. That is why he was smiling yesterday when he gave lala the two options of Lahore and Karachi, he knew it there and then, that Lala will pick Karachi, as both of them were watching the Nazneen Khan drama unfolding behind them on the TV. He is counting on the Indian army to send a message through Nazneen, he will take their help and come to India as Siddhant, but will become Sadiq once he is here and unleash havoc when he gets here.

The above, comes from what I read of Gazal Thakur (the one who plays Shaira) on instagram, where she was praising Rasika Duggal (the one who plays the role of Siddhant's Sister) for giving a performance of a lifetime. I am sure, that as Siddhant's sister she can give a performance of a lifetime only when she has to choose between two unchoosable options. When she would have to reject the only person she has ever loved like a mad woman (her brother - so much so that she never forgave Vikram Singh, and never married him, for failing Siddhant) and do the right thing - save him by killing him/or something equally drastic. Its somewhat like what Wolverine did in Xmen III to Jean. Killed the bad part of Jean to deliver the good part of Jean to death and let her rest in peace. Perhaps Shobha will finally make the choice of killing Sadiq, so she can allow Siddhant to live in her memories, eternally.

If this story goes the typical Indian soldier - patriotic till he dies - it won't be dramatic enough. He has to turn.

Hence I feel Sadiq is going to be Sadiq, and not a closet Siddhant.

Haha ...I love your Username ...

I really wanted Sid to be Sadiq ...as this can actually lead to exploring that Human , that Weak emotional side of a Soldier ...
So was disappointed when he being Siddhant was on reveal ...πŸ˜† , but I'll be honest those Epis were so Fanta-bulously written that I started enjoying He being Siddhant ...
And now yest Epi ...kinda again makes me doubt his Motives and now I do feel he is indeed Sadiq .

My only complain remains the Transformation Justification shown was not enough ...

Else I am all Game for Sadiq...

do you see any scope for redemption if sadiq is indeed sadiq ? i hope there wont be any cliched filmy scene like sister killing brother πŸ˜• IMO, if he in the end agrees to bust the terror network of lala and co with our IB and RAW , then a tragic ending can be avoided

If you go back to the episodes when Siddhant first entered the show, you will notice that the PH spent a lot of time on establishing the character curve of Siddhant's back story. Which is not something they did for either Sartaj or Imaan. Their stories were told, but not in that elaborate a fashion that they did with Siddhant.

They showed his relationship with his mentor/teacher Vikram in detail, and so also his relationship with sister Shobha, they spent 2-3 episodes showing him playing antakshari in a car with Vikram and Shobha, cricket watching, diwali time at house... him flirting with that daughter of the defence officer, taking photographs as one family with the girl, shobha and vikram. And then ended his story with the move to Kargil, when he made that final statement - When we all come back, I would like us to be a family, for real. Hinting at marriage of Vikram and Shobha.

That is a lot of foreshadowing to establish his character. He might want the family for his sister, because that is something both his sis and him did not have, but he wore his heart on his sleeve as far as his own love life was concerned. He was a young officer who was very ambitious as far as his career as a soldier is concerned.

Now take that all in and look at his present day scenario as "hussain's Dushman". The very fact that he let a child call him Dushman, a child he had much affection for, says something. I feel he took hussain under his wing, the way his sister took the young Siddhant under her wing... and hence I feel that his turning after hussain's death could be a very valid reason.

For him Hussain was his only family in that alien space amongst all those people who were always against him, and that includes Afreen too... because even she goaded him on and called him dushman and asked whether he will always remain dushman now that Hussain was dead. I feel if Siddhant did have any feelings for Afreen they would have died that day. Because he may have figured that she is always going to be suspicious of him and his motives, even if she was in love with him. See it's one thing to be in love with someone and profess to know them, but she does not even give him that credit. She actually doubted his intention towards the most purest connection he ever had in Lala's haveli. For me, I read that as a big blow to Sadiq, enough for him to withdraw from her emotionally. He will still do all things for her as her husband, but he is not emotionally attached, if he were, he would seal their romance with the child that her mother so pushes her to have with him.

As for his redemption... I am rooting for super emotional play towards the end. This serial is a hindi adaptation of an Israeli serial, in which the person playing the role of Siddhant turns rogue, and feels regrets only when he sees his sister. The sister is his trigger. So I guess we can count on a dhamakedaar Shobha-Siddhant showdown for sure.

... and Sadiq always says, that with him every thing has to happen with a dhamaka.. πŸ˜†

@Battu :

See ...yes the Siddhant character establisment was clearly done to show how Diff Sadiq is ...

also I agree with you on He having no connection with Afreen . Yes it was only Hussain with whom he sahred very much similar relationship which Shobha shared with Him , His "Apna" in that Unknows Territory .

What comlains I have is ...someone LIke Siddhnat who was well Read Guy , someone who kept Information about all Army and Navy officers and their Regiment , also knew well about Pakistan ...
so someone like him was Hardcore Patriotic , just vaguely believing on the Yusuf's news about India being involved in Peshawar attack ...so easily holding India His Country responsible was something didn't go well with me .

Wish instead of Wasting Time on Stupd Family Drama in Dec , they should have spent more time on Sadiq's establishment ...Because I feel this Transformation was Main Core of the Story ...something that Vikram too relied on "Soldiers change in 17 yrs of Time " .
Or I atleast hope , there is more to Sadiq's story and they give a more proper Gimpse to it , so that the Transformation looked believable .

And honestly ...I so dont want a Sad Ending for Siddhant ... and Shobha killing him will be even more Tragic and Sad .
And though its not Filmy , but its done to death types in BW and TV too ...
I seriously hope ...Makers leave POW's and Audience with a HOPE... A Hope of a Better Life , a Better Tomorrow ...A Hopeful Future.
I seriously hope ...there is Redemption there ...

his expressions while singing save mere naal in front of lala doesn't let me think he is saadiq. It looked like he really miss his friends.
He may have started loving Hussain but he stopped loving Shobha and Vikram is unbelievable for me.

or may be as a viewer I don't want him to be saadiq so it doesn't let me see the reality.

LOL... I don't mind if he is Siddhant and not Sadiq. So you girls relax.

But I just feel that the story would get over even before the slated 156 episodes, if he was Siddhant, that's all. πŸ˜›
And some human drama is always good for TRP naa. hahahahahaha... makes it all that more exciting.

After all the discussion which is going on from few days i just got more and more confused😑 so many different opinions. We all are analyzing Sid 's ever second like crazy. Never thought/analysis about any character so much(watch many show's in past)
I am not a good writer so cant write lengthy post but want to say few things
1.There is no solid reason for sid to concert
2.Want happy ending. ( sid shobha reunion)

@bold - very well written πŸ‘πŸΌ that explains the weird vibes coming from the couple

when 15 years of torture couldn't break him , lala tried his hands on soft tactics , he ensured that his emotional guard comes off... so he tried to fill his emotional vaccum by providing affection and care. now hussain's death was ofcourse out of calculation , but it worked wonders to tiurn him bitter , hussain's innocence and unconditional affection worked as scab on his emotional wounds and with his death that scab was removed and that wound has still not healed .

having said that. all that still dont explain the reason to be bitter towards india as @rollingstones said

yes a big showdown for sure . but i dont want sister killing brother type of melodrama, that reminds me of tulsi virani lol πŸ˜†

and yes if a tragic can be avoided somehow , i am all for it... he is my fav too πŸ˜›
