I like how this series is fast paced. They dont waste unnecessary time in unnecessary formalities, like Vikram going to Sartaj and Imaan, telling them Siddhant is his wife's brother, she wants to meet them etc etc. They simply cut straight to the point. And the two simply arrive at their home with VIkram.
Shobha was strong. But she couldnt wait to hear about her brother from the two of them. She was clear in her head that she couldnt ever forgive them, so it was of no use for them to ask for forgiveness from her, but just do her a big favour by telling her if her brother remembered her.
And Sartaj's answer literally blew me over. He says, in the prison people usually miss those who are not close to them, those who are not beside them. Siddhant never missed you, coz he lived by you. You were always with him through these years. And immediately Shobha remembered him saying that he could never leave her alone and go. He would always be with her, always around her.
Shobha was happy to hear about all the talks and hidden gaalis they would give to the Pakistani soldiers, she could relate to all this, as things her little brother was surely capable of doing. Even though she was happy to finally hear about Siddhant, new stories about Siddhant, she was breaking from within as she couldnt come to terms with the fact that her dear little brother had in fact passed away. And the message for her sent through Sartaj and Imaan that Her brother fought well until the end, made her proud and broke at the same time.
Towards then end, after listening to their entire story, she was able to make up her mind that Sartaj and Imaan did not kill her brother, the situations did. I think, it was really great on her part to say that. Vikram and Shobha are indeed very alike. It takes a huge heart to understand the situation in its depth and not react negatively just by taking the situation superficially, as it seems to be.
Her monologue was beautiful. The immediate connect she established with Imaan by holding his hands and saying she cannot bring her brother back, but can only keep his memories alive with the two of them, was something I did not expect so early, but sure was always waiting for such a moment. It was similar to the connect Harleen shared with Imaan. Imaan, in a way does emit the emotions of I am always going to be there, while Sartaj is himself an unstable atom. But the way she said, in the past seventeen years, everyday she has been praying for a second chance for Siddhant. Though he did not get it, Imaan and Sartaj have got second chances with their families. And they need to make it count for SIddhant's sake atleast. And every word she spoke of getting a second chance and giving it back to the family who has always been by them surely would remain with Sartaj and make him realise the value of Harleen.
Sartaj saw in front of his eyes what it felt like to lose someone so close, through Shobha. Which I am sure he shall relate it to how Harleen must have lived in these past years. And those words of making the second chance worth would surely haunt him until he goes to Harleen and whole heartedly accepts her.
There is a lot of scope for Vikram and Shobha now. I really hope they stay together again. And there is also a lot of scope for Harleen and Sartaj, which has been building up right since the phone call, the apology and the confession.
I have much more to write. To write about the precap. About Siddhant Thakur. God ! I am loving him so much..!! But I know its gonna be long.. So come to the next post for it !!
