Hey, everyone! It feels like it's been forever since I contributed to the forum... Exams suck. I had so much POW to catch up on. I know it's a little late, but I thought I'd share my thoughts.

--------
Naz-Sartaj Scene
When I saw the preview for it, I was so excited, because it's unusual to get dialogue between these two characters. I was hoping for a bit that Naz would somehow find out that Imaan lied through Sartaj, so I was a little disappointed. But it felt good to see Naz taking out some of her anger on him. He deserves all that and more right now.

--------
There's so much going on with the characters right now; everyone's been going through changes.

Imaan
Wow, this man holds himself together so damn well. He has given up the love of his life, and now he's dealing with all this Lala chaos while trying to warn his buddy about the path he's chosen. In the past few episodes, my heart's been breaking for Imaan, and it doesn't look like things are going to get better for him anytime soon. I can't imagine how overwhelmed he's feeling right now.

Shaira
Another surprise here. Based on her temperament, I thought Shaira would change her mind about her abbu in an instant. The fact that she stuck by him even after all this is crazy. It's like the kids in the family have been acting as the adults. Ayaan and Shaira really held it together throughout all the chaos, so props to them.

Abhi
Oh man, I feel so bad for this guy; he didn't sign up for this! He ended up getting way involved in some Khan family drama a while back and he really seems like a genuinely sweet person. I wouldn't mind him with Shaira at all. I hope he's here to stay!

Satpal-Veera
I've always liked Veera, but Satpal has completely won me over. The way these two are sticking to Harleen's side is so commendable. They're proving that family isn't always determined by blood; they realize everything that Harleen has done and their decision to support her over Sartaj without any hesitation was beautiful. I love that Sartaj said that Harleen is his sister-in-law before Sartaj is his brother. Just amazing people, all around. It was the first time in a very long time that POW made me laugh, when Satpal tricked Sartaj into coming home. It was childish, but everyone needed it (I loved that Bauji was cool with it).

Harleen
I think there was like a week's worth of episodes where all the Sartaj-Indira drama was going on, and I'm pretty sure I was crying non-stop watching it. I don't know why, but Harleen's struggles tear me up in a way that the Khan family's can't. I felt horrible during that flashback when the parents met. It seemed like no one wanted her. She really left everything she knew for a completely uncertain future, and this is what she got in return.

Harleen is in a terrible situation, with two choices. While I wanted her to just give up, sign the divorce papers, and be done with Sartaj, I understand her decision to fight. She's been fighting all this time too; she's worked for all she has. For her to give up now wouldn't make sense for her character. She's an incredibly strong woman. Even though I would have preferred for her to take a different route than to try and reform Sartaj (he doesn't seem worth anyone's time or effort at the moment), it was a very mature decision, and I'm sure bringing Sartaj back into the family is her first priority. I see this track going down a sort of cliche kind of route though.

Vikram
First of all, how could you Vikram? I really didn't think he would give Indira the green light for her cheap plan. I thought he was much more sensible than that. Desperate times call for desperate measures, I suppose. I think the connect they tried to make with Indira repeatedly asking him why he gets so anxious when family is concerned was overkill. But anyway, that plan of Indira's seems to be going nowhere. Her chance to strike was when Sartaj was upset and flustered after the call from Pakistan, but she didn't. What in the world is she waiting for?

On another note, contrary to what I initially thought, I actually like the Rohan angle. Moreover, I love that Rohan wants to have a relationship with his dad, and doesn't settle for what his mother says. Even though I'm not exactly sure what happened between the two, I'm sure Shobha's stubbornness and anger is somewhat justified. I just hope that they can sort out their issues eventually. And holy cow, is she really having those hallucinations? She should seek some help.

--------
Imaan-Naz-Salim Situation
I have a few questions here. I know we're kind of heading in a different direction with this as of the last episode or so, but I was a little confused about the whole lying issue and Naz's anger.

First, let's say that Imaan lied to push Naz away because he wanted her to choose Salim. But how would that work? Naz was even angrier at Salim than Imaan after the wedding fiasco. What if things hadn't worked out the way they did? Naz wouldn't have picked anybody.

Also, why couldn't Imaan just tell her the truth about the letter? Why couldn't anyone? I don't see how it wouldn't have had the same impact if Imaan had spoken truthfully about the letter (Naz still would have reacted the same based on what she said about Sartaj), then told her that he knew everything and that she should choose who she wants.

Third, Naz was livid and unforgiving after finding out about Imaan's infidelity. Was all this anger based on the added lie that Imaan said he wanted to leave her? Because how can Naz be upset with the Imaan-Nandini and Sartaj-Indira incidents, unless the audience is to assume that she never was physically intimate with Salim in the past 17 years. I find that hard to believe. So unless that's the case, she's a hypocrite.

--------
Blooper: When Vikram hides at Indira's house, he gets a call from Rohan, even though Rohan doesn't give Vikram his number until a later episode.

--------
Complaint: What is going on with the way the scenes are edited with the background music? It's been really choppy lately. Like, the track in the background keeps getting cut off awkwardly when they go to the next scene. It really ruins that part of the show for me. I hope they fix it soon.

--------
I'm not usually one for making such long posts, but this one got away from me. Do share your thoughts and opinions!

Just wrote a similar post so.e days back...pasting it gere
I like how the show portrays a tint of grey shade in everyone. No one is perfect, everyone is flawed, yet no one could be called evil.
At imaans side

Imaan was a gem of a person, the most loved character in the show, flawed in the past, wanted to bring it up so that the base of his relationship isnt a lie, thought of tge compromises naz and salim made, let her go

Naaz, feel for someone else, not really wrong, it was 17 years after all, but was strong enought to make a choice.

Salim, always portrayed as someone sacrificing his happiness for others, maintained his character, yet there were indirect outbursts that he had with imaan n naz.

Shaira, spoilt, insensitive side was her unwillingness to let go her dream family, now amuch sensible person

Ayan, young, huge crush, wont mind to err fr the sakeof his crush, but an awesome bond with imaam, justifies him time and again, believes in him

Mrs. Khan, she just isnt the tough cold lady, but a woman with principles. Her revealing the reality to imaan was a surprise

At sartaajs side

Sartaaj, so far quite confused and in a way has created a negative impression, hasnt bonded with harleen, but realizes her worth from others perspective. Unlike the precap day before yesterday, he wasnt the one who called indira, but indira did

Ever cool bauji showed a glimpse of selfishness in wanting sartaaj to stay back instead of harleen

I always thought satpal was a little selfish coz he saw his brothers national hero value as a way to get business, but his outburst and support for harleen could not go unnoticed.

Harleen, trying to be the perfect biwi, sometimes would push things too much. She should realize that life has been very different for sartaj and he wont easily adapt back to normal circumstances in a jiffy.

Veera, very concerned, good observer, but very impulsive. Indira was wrong, but who keeps taunting or burning somebodys hand like that

Vikram he does everything for the country, his end intentions are good, but he does agree to not so right ways inorder to protect the nation

Indira/kirti dint have any remorse of her actions, infact she is still at it, though at a point even she appeared to be upset with the rising tensions. And she justifies it by bringing up the security issues.

How everyone is wrong, yet everyone is right.

on the harleen part... Challenging sartaj indira was a little ott...
But i guess that also shows the difference between the lifestyle and thinking of the two families... Sartajs side is a more rural setup...they have much conservative thoughts in there, obviously not including bauji n beeji...they themselves wanted harleen to move on in life...it was her mom who kept insisting that she should continue to serve the family...
Whatever harleen does, its said ki woh bada beta ban kar rehi...like her managing things for the family was supposed to be a mans job...despite encouraging her to pursue further heights, they are in awe of what she does and compares it to a mans standard. They are progressi e, but deep within them they still have a degree of conservativeness. (naaz who was living at her in laws until 17 years back has a nice spacious home, can say a luxury one, 2 cars, thecolleges where she drops her kids also looks grand, which means she has achieved a lot too on her own...but here they dont emphasize much on the gender part...)
Coming back to harleen despite her having studied ahead, she deep within her also lives the same values and traditions as people around her. You havent been in your husbands company all your life, rather than making a better bond now , her immediate aim is to conceive a child.

Regarding Naz Imam Salim, i agree it was rushed, maybe they wanted to proceed to the other tracks... But cant help but praise the maturity shown in the family members.

I agree with you; the different backgrounds of the two families definitely highlight differences in mentality. Can't wait for Sartaj to feel the heat and attempt to shoulder the responsibility that Harleen has. I'm just tired of him and his attitude. He's rude and stubborn for no reason, not to mention confused. Even when/if he comes crawling back, I don't think I'll like him. He is so fickle. There are times he reaches out to Harleen when he doesn't have to, and that throws me off. Sometimes he cares, sometimes he doesn't, who knows? It's supremely annoying.

Harleen wants to have a child. But that makes sense to her, because after 17 years into a marriage, time is definitely running out. She must be mid-30s at least, if not more. And I agree that she should focus on developing a relationship with her husband first, but hey, the suhaagraat 17 years ago would have been the same deal. She literally thought they could pick up right where they left off. But so much has changed. While I understand her desire to be a mother asap given the culture, values, and surrounding pressure, you can't want to be a mother without considering the father and your relationship with him. If she just gave that a thought, she should know immediately that they aren't ready for anything like that. Maybe this form of cultivating a relationship would have worked when they were younger, but it's definitely not going to be effective now. Harleen can't rely on a child to bring them together; they have to bridge the gap on their own.

I think she's already kind of attached to Sartaj... I don't really know why. She's never had a real conversation with the guy or anything. I can see why she would be protective (he has the title of her husband), or caring (it's in her nature), or attached even, because the concept of Sartaj is what kept her in that house for all that time. But I can't believe that she could love him or be in love with him, which is why I think she's doing this bet mainly to bring Sartaj into the family, and simultaneously giving him another chance to be a husband. Let's see if this track gives us something we haven't seen before.
