First episode was indeed brilliant.
It is refreshing to watch such a series which is so well made...right from acting to direction to cinematography to background score and music...everything was amazing.
The scene where Harleen is sitting and the sun rises was suh a beautiful shot...loved it
Loved the scene where Sartaj and Imam met their families after 17 years..again a beautifully shot and well directed scene...The song was a cherry on top..it enhanced the beauty and impact of that scene...The emotions, the confusion, the happiness, the reluctance all these were beautifully depicted and well conveyed by all in that scene.
A great start to the series...I am hooked after watching the 1st episode...excited to watch what is in store for the viewers..not expecting anything less than a rollercoaster of emotions, feelings, mystery and intrigue
Thumbs up for the first epi

I am happy most of you felt that way. It was indeed beautiful. It ended on suspense. But it was supposed to be that. An emotional thriller.

The premier episode was everything what I had expected and more. The four leads are phenomenal actors. I am already falling in love with them. The episode was well paced. The cinematography and music both was exceptional. Very rarely you get to see such beautiful sights in Indian TV shows. My favorite is Harleen sitting on steps watching the sunrise. The foundation for the show has been set and I am sure we are in for a roller coaster ride.

Wonderful post!
The episode covered a lot of ground and it laid a wonderful foundation for the story; Firstly i loved how they showed the soldier hesitating to shoot on armless humans. Such a real raw human emotion to avoid violence but then having to obey and shoot.

Secondly Iman's daughter holding her chachu's hand was the most beautiful moment of the episode, Iman may be her biologcical father but she has only seen her chachu as the person fulfling the role of a father, DNA doesnt change anything. Although the return for the Sikh family is still joyous, but somewhere the Khan family couldnt decide what they were feeling .. They are happy yet they are sad, i am sorry i am bad with names but Iman's wife's hug was a beautifully enacted moment,

Then moving on to vikram saying that 17 years can even change a soldeir's heart. Loved loved it!they are moving on from glorification of soldiers where in past we have heard that everything can change but not a soldier's loyalty, they are humans and yes 17 years is a long long time!

So there is a twist, Sikh soldier said khuda haafiz, either he converted to Islam or he picked up khudaa hafiz because afterall he spent 17 years in a jail in a muslim country.

Wonderful episode!

However,, my only concern is i hope they dont make this an anti - Pakistan show bcz no matter how open minded i became, my patriotism will hinder my viewership. I hope they treat it on neutral basis that it happens on both sides!

@Fantasia Khuda Hafiz had so many subtle hints. And Vikram he was too good. I want it to be grey. Let it not keep black or white and let it traverse grey. Only then it will be a good watch. Let it dare to show something different.

Just dropping by to say *love the first episode* ----- not disappointed at all -----frankly speaking i wasn't expecting much --- thought it may *drag & bore* considering the theme --- but it caught me off guard & now i am glued to this show ---!!!!
Amrita Puri esp impressed me ----- rest are good too & im sure waiting to impress me---- but today Amrita's innocence & honest acting touched my heart ---- !!!!!!!

I just opened a topic on BWF --- sharing what i wrote there --- !!!!

http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4745816

This girl literally stole Sonam's thunder in Aisha
------ was very impressed with her since then ---- just watched the very first episode of *POW: Bandi Yuddh Ke* & her debut on the small screen --- & i am very much impressed -- !!!!
Some of the very good actors from Amrita Puri to Sandhya Mridul to Purab Kohli are part of the show ------ from the first promo itself i have been looking forward to this show ---- it has the *Homeland* feel to it yet has been rightly Indianized for our Indian audience ---- beautiful backdrop of Punjab & elitist Muslim community --- good writing & direction so far ---- it's a *finite series* --- so hoping it won't get ruined like other shows -!!!!
Anyone else watching it here -- ? Highly recommend the show if u aren't -- !!!!

very well said, i dont want the show to be scared to show something daring, neither do i want it to completely portray an anti Pakistan sentiment. Let it be grey and let it highlight mistakes and selfishness from both sides, let it show how in madness of war and patriotism, we destroy innocent lives and families.

I had seen PKHJD on SONY, and i loved loved the treatment they gave to the both countries but at same places they were bounded, they couldnt say Pakistan, and thus said neighbouring country, parosi mulk .. POW has been daring in that sense they are taking clear names which makes the experience more authentic.
