I think you are confused, the same girl is doing a double role of Sati and Parvati as Parvati ji is Sati ji's reincarnation (though that does not mean they would look similar, writer just took creative liberty)

Sati ji always wanted to marry Shiv as she was a form of Shakti. Shiv and Shakti are one soul in two bodies. But her father Daksh was against this marriage, he felt that his daughter who is raised in such a comfort would not be able to adjust with Shiva, also he did not consider Shiv as God. However since Shiv and Shakti are bound to be together, Sati married Shiv much to the anger of Daksh. But since the marriage was done he couldn't do much. But he broke all his alliance with her daughter post this marriage.

It was during these days that Daksh organized a big Puja and invited his every relative excluding Sati and Shiv. Sati however being blind in love of her father went for the Puja (she thought that a father need not invite a daughter). Shiv did not go with her as He did not want to go uninvited. In the Puja Daksh insulted Sati a lot, he also called ill words for Shiva, Sati could not tolerate this and using her power burnt herself into ashes thereby also destroying the big Puja that was happening. Shiv got angry and then there is a big story which is not relevant here

After many years Sati ji was reborn as the daughter of the king of Himalaya Parvat (mountain) and hence was name Parvati, she grew up and married Shiv ji. Her parents were very happy to get her married off to God
