These questions and contradictions are not actually just related to the show. These are very common questions that we as human beings have in regards to God.
Here's my take on it. It's my personal perception, and I am not promoting one religion over the other. Also, I am in no way saying my thinking is correct. I'm open to all points of view.
God does guide you along life's journey. He supports, He scolds, He guides, He loves you, and He takes care of you. There are some choice and decisions that we make, and we have to go through the consequences (good or bad) that result because of our choices.
Also, there are some things that we has human beings cannot foresee that will happen to us in our lifetime (according to kismat, destiny). In such times God gives you strength to remain strong during those things. He also provides guidance and support.
God creates each of us with good intentions and with the hopes that we will do good in this world, however, people make choices and some of those are horrible and awful ones. Some people choose to use what God gives us to do good with to do evil and wrong. God cannot stop them (because we are free to choose), but He can protect you from such people. If you have been affected by such people, He can give you strength, guidance, and support to carry on.
To truly remain on the path of good and righteousness in this world is truly a remarkable thing to be able to do. This world is full of so many distractions and contradictions. God is in each of us and sees everything each of us is doing. What is it means by "God is with those who are on the path of good and righteous action" is that God supports you 100% when you are truly doing something righteous and good. It is tough because you might be all alone in your fight, but God is with you and in the end the power of God will help you win your battle. There is nothing more powerful than a person with honesty, kindness, and compassion, as well as a true well wisher of each human being. To be such a person is not unattainable, however, it is the toughest battle God has give to us as human beings. We just don't know it because we are so unaware and are in constant want of something else. (Again, the distractions of this world...😆)
Okay, I will stop here for now. I can discuss spirituality for days on end. It's my most favorite topic of discussion. 😆
