BD returns home in the afternoon dancing in joy, ordering samosas from MithaiLal and inviting BatukLal to his house to meet Babli, just because his childhood friend Akhilesh is coming to Kanpur from Malaysia after a long time. However no one in the family shares his enthusiasm when he shares this news with them. An irritated BD ends up scolding poor MithaiLal and sends BatukLal back. BD complains to Shivay that no one in the house understands his joy and Shivay assures him that He does, since He made friends with BD. As the time for his friend's arrival draws near, BD gets ready with a garland at the doorstep to welcome him. But instead of Akhilesh, Govardhan arrives, dressed in a suit. He informs them that he's in a disguise and on the lookout for a criminal, who is suspected to have entered the city already. When BD tells him about his friend, Govardhan suggests welcoming him in a filmy way. Together they decide to rehearse the entire thing, but BD spots Akhilesh and runs to hug him, while Govardhan crashes with Papaji.
BD and Akhilesh shares an emotional moment on seeing each other after years. They enjoy snacks and when Akhilesh asks about the increased security in the city, Govardhan tells him about the criminal and spills out about his identity and disguise. Later on Akhilesh gives the gifts he has brought for each and every member of the family, most of them being quite expensive ones. BD protests but Akhilesh says that they are his family too. The two friends share an emotional moment over dinner and retire to their room to sleep.
Late at night, BD wakes up due to Akhilesh's loud snoring. He stumbles into Akhilesh's briefcase as he went to fetch water for himself. As he was putting the things into the briefcase, BD discovers a revolver along with other belongings. He's horrified but tries to assure himself and Shivay that either someone else might have placed the revolver in his briefcase without his knowledge or he might have kept it with him for his security. Shivay asks him if it could be otherwise. BD tells him that it would only mean that Akhilesh is involved with illegal activities and all the money and gifts showered on them have been earned through fraudulent means. Shivay asks him to go to sleep. BD decides to question Akhilesh about it in the morning.
Next morning BD asks for Akhilesh and Bobby tells him that he's on the terrace. Just as he's going to talk to him, he overhears Akhilesh warning someone of dire consequences, even death, of cheating in their business. A stunned BD rushes to Akhilesh's room and starts checking his belongings and soon discovers several passports, each in a different name from his suitcase. He concludes that Akhilesh is indeed a criminal as no honest person can own so many passports with fake identities in his name. He laments to Shivay that the person who has been his best friend since childhood and stood by him through thick and thin and even helped him financially to complete his studies, has turned out to be a criminal. He tells Him that his sense of duty as a responsible citizen requires him to hand over his friend to the law but then, the love for a friend won't let him do so. Shivay asks him to follow his heart and also listen to his mind this time. BD begs Shivay to show him a way out of the turmoil.
BD decides to go to the police station and inform them about Akhilesh. As he was leaving the house, Akhilesh and others notice him to be visibly disturbed and his happiness gone. Govardhan arrives, this time dressed as a Tamilian. Bobby rightly points out that if he kept disclosing his disguises of his own then the culprit will easily get alerted. At the police station, BD starts telling the police inspector about the certain criminal they were searching for but couldn't speak out the entire truth about Akhilesh as his love for his friend gets the better of him. Back at home, Akhilesh decides that it's time to leave. The entire family protests at his decision as they have grown fond of him but Akhilesh insists on leaving. He demands kheer from Bobby. BD arrives by then and they share the dessert. BD is reluctant to let him go despite his own inner turmoil. Just then the police arrive at their house to arrest Akhilesh. BD is alarmed but Akhilesh maintains his calm. BD argues that he had told the police all that he knew about the criminal and his friend is a honest man, so they cant arrest him like that. Akhilesh reveals that he had informed the police about his whereabouts since he wanted to surrender to the law - he had played enough hide and seek. He reveals to the stunned family that he's indeed a criminal on the run from law; his association with crime began when he faced a massive loss at business and needed a way out of his financial problems. As days went by, his illegal businesses expanded and he got all that money can buy, but lost his relationships in the process. Now BD and his family are the only near and dear ones left to him and he couldn't bear to see them disappointed. He sought their pardon and left with the police, not before telling BD that the gifts brought for them were purchased with the last remains of his hard-earned money and asks him to keep them.
BD laments to Shivay that he failed to save his friend despite lying to the police. Shivay understands that he was trying to be a good citizen and a good friend at the same time, which made him ignore his inner conscience. But the game of life has its own set of rules and it's not necessary that if one player falters, another one makes the same mistake too. That's why Akhilesh's conscience pricked him when BD refused to listen to his own conscience. Because He is present in all, from BD to Akhilesh, in good and bad alike.
