And N's mother is another character who is getting on my nerves. You want to help your daughter, then become the bridge between father-daughter, help her complete her Honors degree. But No! Bas shaadi kara do to life settles hain. Bakwas! 😡 😡 😡

If we are talking about TV shows here, then this term is used very casually by viewers just because they want to watch good looking people together. After our Flippery Friend's post, I bhatkofied in Pinjara Forum & read some solid discussion where Forumwasis were pissed off too with the use of this word and IGwasis' demand.
And if we are talking about real life or general people, I don't think this term should be even used generally. Because no one does extreme things out of his/her character just Aise Hi. Even to become the most despicable, there's a gradual progression in the the type of behavior you are projecting.
We say things, do things, realize our faults & try to repent for it; show through our action that we are genuinely repenting & want a second chance. In real life, no one takes a 180 degree flip & even if they do, the reasons are too grave & hardly anyone ever come out of that.
The will to change that course or redeeming themselves - it's a huge task & obviously no one changes their entire characteristic traits and everything. They just modify their behavior.
So yeah! I agree that you can't change the entire person calling it REDEMPTION.

Casually yes, it's not on looks even, they just keep talking about it randomly. Plus, then again another odd thing I think, leads me liye toh sab maaf. But if a side character or villain does a small wrong thing, they never get chance for redemption, like what even?

Well, Mr. B made the landmines invisible. D and V decided to pole vault across the wall. V was able to do so but Mr. B threw D to another side of BN where Briganza was there. R decided to follow V. He had a metal detector and was very confident that he will cross the landmines and D will make a mistake and die. He had placed Briganza's foot on a landmine in order to convince both BVs that they are also in the same problem. Briganza revealed to D that R has a metal detector and so, R was forced to take D along with him and help him in crossing the trap.
Then, he stuck his foot in a manhole in order to have D stay back to help him. D tried helping him but he did not let his foot be pulled out by doing drama that his foot is hurting and all. Trying to emotionally blackmail him, R told D to leave, get the chopper and save others and then help him. He expected D to get emotional and stay back to help him but D started leaving saying that he will save the others first and then will return later to save him. 😆
Ye plan bhi fail ho gaya and R was forced to get his foot out and accompany D.
The most hilarious part was the media giving blasting... err breaking news. 😆

True. It's always about leads. Remember I told you about watching BB? I was bhatkofying there & agreed with a post that Mini is beyond redemption now. But then one sentence really caught me off guard. Mini is vile because she can't see beyond herself & she didn't give Ani a chance to explain. So whatever Ani does, he is young, he is confused, he doesn't have a strong support system. But a 16-18 years old girl who was desperately waiting for her so called lover's confession, she gets to know he has returned with a wife and is supposed to listen to his justification - I mean, simply wow! 👏 👏 👏

Precisely! You see, one of the best redemption arc I have seen on TV was of Regina's from Once Upon A Time. And she did admit from time to time that she was trying to do the right thing but it took a great toll on her too because the impulse was still there. At points she lashed out. She was a positive person who became extremely dark after her lover was killed right in front of her eyes. And even that took time. When she reformed again, that took time. Her core beliefs system or behavior remained almost the same.
So that was a perfect example of a redemption arc in my opinion.

Definitely, that was one!! I believe for me, examples would be of Lavanya from ipk, arc and development was really awesome. The most unpopular opinion, Arnav and Lavanya actually made sense. Then from the glimpses I saw, Ragini also had a good redemption track from Swaragini.

Well, since both BVs lost their powers, the Pari Tara also became weak as BV powers are directly linked with the Pari Tara. So, as a precautionary move, a protective shield was automatically created around Veer Lok blocking the entry and exit of anyone.
Now, BP and DP are doing Veer Tap to create a high amount of energy so that both BVs regain their powers soon and the Pari Tara too becomes normal.

Like faults are done by everyone and can be corrected, accepted and so much more. For every single day, you can't have redemption, unless it's something very huge. Plus a whole 360 degrees redemption also never happens. It's always going ahead with what you have and take efforts to change. As per people, theory is change self totally.
Like you can make Bhel from Curmura, or something else, different dishes. But people want pasta from it, matlab raw material hi change, toh you don't get redemption, you are asking a new character.

Agree completely with whatever you and Nushy said regarding redemption.
People actually use the word too casually. Koi bhi show ho, any character does a mistake, people start screaming redemption... And I really doubt as to how many people actually understand the word and its meaning.
Obviously everyone does mistakes... Simple mistakes are forgiven if you ask for forgiveness (sincerely).
Redemption only comes when the mistake is a really huge one... and no one behaves totally out of his/her character doing a huge mistake daily. Roz roz thode hi redemption maang sakte hain...
Besides, the way people ask for a change in character... koi bhi character aise hi to complete 360° change nahi ho sakta.
