Considering the last few tracks, I am not going to discuss on the potential of the current track. If they can execute it properly, that would be a wonderful surprise.
I just wanted to discuss about the topic - what's your take on hiring a governess?
Personally, I am both in support and against it. In today's world when both the parents her working, it's impossible for them to look after their kids properly. Specially if you are living in a nuclear family. So hiring a governess isn't the end of the world.
But does hiring a governess ensure your kids will be disciplined?
I strongly dislike this concept. Ultimately no one can teach discipline better than parents and when you are involving an outsider, a gap forms.
Let me share my own experience. When I was a kid, usually my brother used to teach me and I was really Badtameez in a sense that I didn't want to study with my parents. I was more comfortable with my brother and believed him to be the best. So my parents assigned a tutor for me to keep me busy. But the ultimate control was always in their hand. They gave the tutor full liberty to punish me if I was being bratty but warned her never to raise her hand. On the other hand, I was told to obey my teacher and if I felt any sort of discomfort or couldn't follow her method of teaching, I had the option to tell them. But my parents were clear that they won't give me any lease if I wanted to avoid the teacher for being strict.
Ultimately, I was disciplined by my parents more than that teacher. BTW, I was really fond of her, we had great time together.
So, I do support Ansh and Piya for hiring a governess because multiple times they both have told the kids to behave but being kids, they didn't pay any heed to it and now the teachers and classmates are complaining. But a governess will come and miraculously teach them discipline, isn't it a bit too much? Today they had the opportunity to be strict and firm and let the kids know that they can't get away with everything with their puppy eyes. But I felt they stressed way too much on the governess here than their own responsibility.
Coming to the next point, I am disappointed with Ansh but even more with Piya. Now I don't know whether this is because I have always been closer to my mom that I feel, mothers understand their children's need earlier compared to fathers.
Ansh practically represented typical fathers who believe hiring more people for kids can solve the problem.
But my issues with Piya is that she understands where they are wrong, but she gets influenced by Ansh easily rather than being firm when it comes to their kids. She herself said, she was worried because she doesn't want her kids to end up like her brother. And she can't blame them too as they are way too young to understand the complications associated with their power. So how come a mere mortal help them to control their anger? Isn't it on her to teach the kids to control their anger and power? With due respect, she is not even a working woman. Ensuring her kids' safety should be her priority.
Then again hiring the governess. She was right that the resemblance was enough reason to not hire her. But what's with Ansh's point? The kids are probably studying in Standard 1 and 3. It's not a crime not to hire the governess selected by the school principal. They can easily get admission in another school and aren't at a critical juncture where transferring would affect their study/career adversely. So what's with this - Mushkil mein pad jayenge?
And why can't Piya reason with him?
