Well I don't think dola would have thought an ekayan and that too Ruby as a competition because of two reasons:
Firstly according to the dola Ruby is a stupid and useless daayan so she would not have felt a threat from her.
Secondly dola is a dukayan and logically she has everything double as compared to ekayan. Two heads, two chotis and of course double age to live in 502 years and double powers. So ekayan's powers would not have been of any use to her.
Yes this role definitely gave her the opportunity to break free from that Nirupa Roy image and this is the reason why I am happy about it
About the future storyline I can't say anything right now because first we will have to see how mohona will be brought alive. This will give a starting point for further predictions.
