Nach Baliye 5: We "deserved" to win the title says Mahhi Vij

50 lakhs votes in last episode were equivalent to 50 lakh prize money and winning title for Jay–Mahii. After three months of grilling practice sessions and hectic schedules, expectedly Television's popular couple Jay Bhanushali and Mahii Vij walked away with the title on grand finale show of Nach Baliye Season 5 telecasted on March 23, 2013.

They were the most consistent performers right from the word go and have experimented the most with their dancing on stage. Be it their Nach Score Card; be it Jodi of the Week title or be it their popularity on social networking sites; this Jodi had maintained its top position in all fronts. The couple also won the Jodi of the Season. Their choreographers Omkar and Vivek also won Rs. 5 lakh along with an opportunity to choreograph in T-Series upcoming film.

Ravi Dubey of Saas Bina Sasural fame and his fianc Sargun Mehta of Kya Hua Tera Vada came second, Neelu Vaghela aka 'Bhabho' of Diya Aur Baati Hum and Arvind Kumar finished third while Aaj Ki Housewife Hain Sab Janti Hai fame Sushasi Dhami and her better half Jaisheel Dhami received minimum votes from audiences ending at fourth position.

The finale episode was full of drama, entertainment and of course lots and lots of dance from the contestants as well as judges. Shilpa Shetty sizzled on the dance floor after 3 long years with her performance on Fevicol se, Chikni Chameli and her very own UP Bihar lootne song which had established her as a dancing star. Performance fromTerence Lewis was as mesmerizing as can be expected. Himmatwala movie star castAjay Devgn and Tamannaah graced the finale. Tamannaah displayed her dancing skills on songs Naino mein sapna and Taaki o taaki from her upcoming movie.

Nach Baliye season 5 began with a bang on December 29, 2012 with 11 couples competing for the coveted title. The show registered a whooping TRP of 4.1 making it one of the most successful non-fiction shows of Television. Not only did the show generate bigTRP on TV but received a total of nearly 2 crores votes from audiences through the series. A lot of hype was generated around the finale episode of the show in the digital world.

The show started trending on Twitter much before the telecast and not just reached number 1 on Twitter in India but worldwide. This truly is a phenomenal achievement showcasing the extent of involvement the show generated worldwide. It generated over a 100 million impressions worldwide on Twitter and has generated more than a billion impressions since its launch.

Its celebration time for both, channel Star Plus for having wrapped up yet another successful season of Nach Baliye and Jai-Mahhi for their victory. We congratulate both of them for entertaining us throughout the season and emerging as winners. Jai-Mahhi believes that they deserved to win the title. suhasheel got minimum votes only..unbelievable...they were in bottom 2 only one time...they got high votes all episodes...but in finale they got minimum votes...no sense...

Aaj Ki Housewife Hain Sab Janti Hai fame Sushasi Dhami and her better half Jaisheel Dhami received minimum votes from audiences ending at fourth position.

They didn't received minimum votes but SP intentionally made them come to third place. Suhasheel have only came to Bottom 2 Once. That too when their marks were really low compared to the rest. And now, all of a sudden.. they got minimum votes 😆

SP's intention was clear. From not giving them promo, no tweets about them, edit their performance to be shorter.. They did everything and now say they got minimum votes!

How about mentioning THE actual reason the show was getting mentioned a lot. Three quarter of the digital world were voicing their annoyance at how ridiculous and partial the whole season was. So many jodis were getting sidelined and criticized where as some others were thrust-ed to high heavens. For a show that has had that much of digital traffic, the fans of all the jodis (who made the trp that high) should've been given some recognition and appreciation by showcasing more fair play and more of the jodis instead of the judges cause. The runner up should;ve been given due credit too. But, alas, for most of the fans who made the trp that high, we were not rewarded or appreciated a single bit.The finale was disappointing to say the very least.

@ruchus it is nothing to do with the votes, it was decided much before, see voting was really there then amarcharlie woudn't have gone, i know they have max online fans after Drashti & gurmeet & Ksg. go & see their fan clubs in Fb & IF too, & dil dosti dance is watched by many young fans in hostels & colleges ,so iam pretty sure voting is never a criteria, it was all pure business. They retained jaysheel & suhasi bcz they know if they remove in the semifinal round drashti & suhasi fans stay away from finale who are in large number ,to keep drashti-suhasi -gurmeet on line fans intact they brought them to finale. jay-mahi were already won when sajid started promoting but they had to make ravi shargun make second runnerup to look that system natural.neelu & arvind were channel fav so they had to be considered because her show is highest TRP show & to prov all voted to neelu they kept them , i don't think they had so many fans who would mind to call so much or do online voting . coming to jai-suhasi they took advantage of drashti & her fans till the end for show's USP. Regarding overflow of RTsweets to jai-mahi i know anybody can do it with a simple APP in the twitter at a time 100s of retweets to a person,
