Sajid Khan is known as a judge on Star Plus' Nach Baliye 5 (Frames) who does not mince words. And he again proved this quality when he dismissed allegations that he was being unfair to certain contestants.
"It is a matter of interpretation. Remember, Amit ji's (Amitabh Bachchan) famous dialogue from Aakhree Raasta that 'what is six to me is nine to you'. I have always been honest and luckily Star Plus has not asked me to say this or that. And if you check, whichever contestant I have singled out for criticism they have been eliminated in the next episode."
When asked who does he think has a chance a to win from the remaining jodis, this highly successful film director (Heyy Babyy, Housefull, Housefull 2) said without being diplomatic, "Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij, they are really good."
Sajid who began his entertainment career as a TV anchor (Kehne Mein Kya Harj Hai, Ikke Pe Ikka and Sajid's Superstars) added, "Many people have even questioned the composition of the Nach judges panel (Shilpa Shetty, him, and dancer-choreographer Terrence Lewis). But that is how the format is. Shilpa looks at the beauty and acting part. Terence evaluates the dancing while I am concerned with the overall entertainment quotient."
Sajid who's next film Himmatwala will release on 29 March (2013), says that one of the reasons why he accepted the offer to judge the above celebrity dance show was that it's finale also would happen around that time and so he can promote the film as well.
"But I have also really enjoyed myself in the process of judging," he maintains.
Talking about the promotional activities of his film, Sajid says, "I have already released the music of this remake of the 1983 classic by the same name on the show along with lead actor Ajay Devgn and that episode had rated the highest (5.7). And the icing on the cake was that Ajay really enjoyed it. He was to sit only for three hours, but he pushed it back by an hour and a half for he really liked the antics of Rahul Mahajan. Normally most actors don't like tie ups, but they have to make an appearance so they do it."
Here Sajid informs that Himmatwala's female lead Tamannaah will also perform at the Nach finale.
