Ravi did the whole dance with Sargun sitting on his shoulders.

Standing out among the host of talent on Nach Baliye 5 is not easy, but Ravi and Sargun literally stood out and brought tears to the eyes of judge Shilpa Shetty Kundra by their act this week.

The one-of-a-kind act saw Sargun perched on Ravi's shoulder (who was hidden by her gigantic ghagra) like a human stilt and dancing to Aaja nachle. They matched their steps to perfection and to onlookers it appeared as if only one person was doing the dancing. The challenge for the couple was to stay connected throughout their performance. And connected they were. Seeing the act, Shilpa got really emotional and tears welled up in her eyes. Judge Sajid Khan, who has the reputation of being hard-to-please, too termed it as "a finale performance". The couple got a standing ovation.

"We could have chosen the easy way by doing a ball dance. But we thought of doing it differently. When we locked the concept, it seemed easy. During rehearsals, Ravi practiced his footwork and I practiced the upper body movements. Till then it was fine. But as soon as I sat on him for three minutes at a stretch, everything went haywire. I had to ensure that my entire weight wasn't on his neck. However, the 20 rehearsals we did every day left him with a lot of pain. But our gamble paid off and we got full marks," said an ecstatic Sargun. "By far it was the most difficult act that we had done. But we had to raise the bar since the finals are just week's away," said Ravi.

"Besides my weight, my costume itself weighed eight kilos. Plus it was a huge dress, so Ravi not only had the weight on his shoulders he was also unable to see anything. To top it he had to take rounds of the stage and even walk up and down the stairs. I was very scared," confided Sargun after the show.
wohaa cant wait for their act. 😊😉

Ohh God...such copycats..again they have lifted the concept from Dance India Dance..!! Colors should seriously point this out to Star Plus. This channel has totally lost credibility for original dance concepts!

Check out for yourself!

Do not criticize unless you have seen their dance!! There is nothing wrong if the concepts get matched up, it's only a copy cat when the whole steps are completely copied!! There are so many dancers who do the aerial acts, puppet acts... Concepts are the same but the execution and the steps are different!! So let's wait and watch!! And by the way, it is very easy to judge and criticize others!! At least let's give this couple credit for their hard work! Not a fan of this couple but I hate it when some people can do nothing but criticize! Let's put ourselves first in the contestents' shoes and then give our judgement! Every contestant is doing their best! It's just that sometimes despite your effort, it's not your day!! These non dancers are giving their best and I salute their efforts!!

P.S: I wonder who is going to complain against Colors who has the shows copied from other channels. E.g: India's Got Talent itself is a copied show from "America's Got Talent". Despite a copied show, I would rather not criticize India's Got Talent since it provided platform for many Indian talents. Likewise "Nach Baliye" is also turning many non dancers to great dancers. Isn't that an achievement?? Where in the world can anyone find a country, where non dancer actors perform such world class difficult acts??

@postmodenist i agree wid u. i don't've any prob if concepts r same. even if sumtimes sum steps etc. bcoz there r so many contestants on so many dance shows on large no. of channels so its difficult 2 introduce difft concepts in such a short time as almost all couples r doing oder shows. i won't mind this if they do justice 2 the performances & concepts.😊
and its not just abt ravi-sargun but all couples who r putting so much hard work. i don't know why ppl r making so much hue & cry on copying the concepts??😕 no1 is saying its original. they r saying that this is done for 1st time on NB stage.
i m just fed up so many topics on this.give credit 2 the couples who r atleast working hard.
in our state one folk dance is same but we choose difft songs & sumtimes difft dance steps but still the concepts r sumtimes same steps. so we shud say all dancers r copying??😕
