One of the most eligible, successful and talented bachelors of telly town, Sachin Shroff surprises us by his outspoken nature.
Unlike most of his counterparts, the down-to-earth Sachin admits that he was a "pathetic actor and needs to brush up his Hindi more to become a better actor." Not many would know that his small screen stint started off six years ago when he was replaced on the first day of the shoot of Kanyadaan (after he had given six takes for a scene!). He returned to the small screen with a bang, after a proper home work in acting.
Today, Sachin, has two prime time dailies (Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai and Meri Doli Tere Aangna and a weekly (Naagin) in hand. Sachin loves his character in Naagin considerably.
Arjun is a very happy-go-lucky man who enjoys life. I was a little reluctant to do this role in the beginning, but eventually I thought I'd try it out. In Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, I play Gyan who believes in the joint family system and loves his wife, but she is not too keen on living in a joint family. Both roles are well defined." And now Sachin is expected to replace Gaurav Khanna in Meri Doli Tere Aangna, but the actor wouldn't want to comment on it yet.
And like a lot of television stars, Sachin has also had his share of crazy fans. "I remember once an old lady turned up at a shopping mall and asked me to marry her daughter. I was completely baffled and didn't know what to say," he confesses sheepishly.
On television, his boy-next-door good looks have won him many female fans. Does it give him a heady feeling? "Well, the television industry is full of married men. Fortunately, there's a sprinkling of eligible bachelors too now, so that's good for fans," he quips. Is Sachin hooked or booked? The reticent actor admits that while he has been receiving a lot of proposals, he's not thinking of "marriage yet. I am seeing someone, but I would not like to talk about it."
Recently an entertainment portal declared him as one of the sexiest Asians on television. A tag the actor is not comfortable with at all. The discomfort is evident in his voice when he says, "I am trying to handle the tag of being the sexiest man".
