Arjun saves Amrita

Naagpanchmi

Masa tells the Naagpanchmi tale

Amrita is trapped in a circle of fire. Arjun is stunned and jumps in the circle as Amrita weeps and tells him that he shouldn't have come here and endanger his life. He yells that she is his life – they will live together and die together. Naagrani is shocked as she realises that instead of running away as she thought; Arjun is ready to give up his life for Amrita. She removes the fire and disappears.

Arjun is confused but Amrita tells him that his love saved them. Arjun says that it was their love and they hug.

Singh House…

Ratna awaits AA anxiously as she wonders what is taking them so long. AA come in and Ratna takes their arthi. Vishnu asks them why they are so late and Karn and Kanaak tease AA saying that they went on their honeymoon so didn't feel like coming back. Ratna talks about Kanak and Vishesh's engagement and Karan tells Kanak that now the time for her marriage has come, he has realised how important she is to him. They hug and Masa smiles as she sees this.

Morning…

Rahul and Anjali refuse breakfast saying that it's cold. Masa comes in and says that everything should be eaten today today because it's Naagpanchmi. Amrita and Kanak exchange glances. Masa tells them that the puja is held in the evening and then she will explain the story of Naagpanchmi.

Evening…

Masa does the puja and remembers doing the same in the cave. Rahul and Anjali ask her for the story. Masa sits them all down and starts by saying that there were five nags who protected the Naagmani in Naag Lok. One day a human man came to Naaglok with his daughter to see a Naagin.

[As Masa tells the story; Naagrani is shown many years back]

The man tells Naagrani that he is going to a neighbouring village and asks her to look after his daughter Uma. Naagrani agrees and introduces her to Chothi Naagin [Sudha].

Later; Sudha takes Uma and does arthi and sings hymns as she dances. Uma watches and copies. After the arthi, Uma says that she really enjoyed watching her pray and asks if she can also do arthi here. Sudha is hesitant and tells her that one has to ask permission from Naagrani to pray here. However she assures Uma that she will ask Naagrani for her.

A few days later; Uma asks Naagrani for some work who tells her to feed the five nags Sopan Ras but warns her to be careful and serve the ras cold otherwise the nags will become angry. Uma is shown serving the naags.

Utsav days arrive and all the naagins including Sudha dance and perform. Uma hears the sound of music and leaves the Sopan Ras to listen. Sudha dances and sings with her. Uma remembers about the Sopan Ras and rushes back. Forgetting about Naagrani's warning; she accidentally feeds the naags hot Sopan Ras. The naags scream in pain and the puja is interrupted. Naagdev is furios to see this and curses her that she will become half human and half naagin.

Sudha begs the Naagdev for forgiveness as Uma is her friend. Naagdev replies that his curse will break if the naags forgive her. Sudha asks the naags for Uma's forgiveness as she has served them well so far. The naags agree and forgive Uma. However Naagrani says that if this mistake is forgiven; then in the future humans will make the same mistake; therefore all humans must suffer for Uma. She says that on this day all humans must eat cold food. Naagdev names the day Naagpanchmi. Masa finishes her tale.

Vishesh-Kanak engagement. Kanak asks Amrita for a promise.
