Shaurya comes dressed up as a DJ and entertains everyone. Every time he tries to talk to Dia, she would go and stand with either one of her family members or friends making it impossible for him to have a word with her. Finally he corners her up and when she tries to runaway, he catches hold of her wrist, breaking one of her bangles in the process. This causes her to bleed. He apologises to her and fetches some first aid and treats the cut. Dia is touched and moved by this gesture and she nods her 'yes' to his proposal. She runs away, blushing.
Ammaji says that before the commencement of the phere, there is an important tradition that must be kept 'alive'. She says that the bride's father must touch the feet of all the groom's family members. Everyone is shocked at Ammaji's announcement and Mr Chuadhary congratulates her for still keeping the old traditions alive. Tanisha's mother and her sister are tearful. Tanisha's mother tells Ammaji that her husband's back is not alright and that he can't bend. She and her other daughter offer to do it instead of Dinesh.. Ammaji is surprised at this and tells them it is not for them to do it. She then adds as an afterthought that if Tanisha had a brother, he could have done it instead of his father. Tanisha's father, Dinesh, intervenes and assures Ammaji that he would do it. He starts with Joginder and Gajender. Both of them smirk at Tanisha's father's humiliation. Dinesh then bends to touch Avtar's feet and Avtar stops him and hugs him instead. Ammaji tells him that it is not a 'hugging' ceremony but a feet touching ceremony. Tanisha's father is forced to touch Avtar's feet too. Karan moves behind thus making himself incospicous among other people. Dinesh then proceeds to the women and touches Santosh and Chanda's feet. Both of them are very hurt and tearful at his humiliation but keep mum. He then bends to touch Dia's feet too but she drops her hand kerchief and bends down to retrieve it thus preventing him from touching her feet.. She feels very bad for him and whispers an apology on behalf of her family. Rajveer comes in just then and tells Dinesh that he forgot him. Avtar is furious and orders him to go in. Ammaji says that it is a part of the tradition and that Dinesh must touch Rajveer's feet too. She looks around to see if Dinesh had touched everyone's feet and she spots Yashpal. She asks Dinesh to touch his feet. Everyone is flabbergasted. Finally Dinesh touches Ammaji's feet and they proceed for the phere.
The bride and the groom sit down for the marriage. Tanisha again recollects all that had happened in the past few days concerning their flying back to the U.S. and the guy,Ronnie. The ghatbhandan is tied and Tanisha and Adi are asked to go around the sacred fire. Tanisha then recollects her father humiliation and in a spurt of anger unties the ghatbhandan. She says that she will not marry Adi.
