Adi and Tanisha go out for dinner. The receptionist at the restaurant informs them that they have to wait for at least forty five minutes as there is no availability of tables. Adi produces his business card and instantly the receptionist turns a volte face and escorts them to a table. Adi is bewildered at the guy's change in attitude on seeing Aditya Group Of Companies' business card and Tanisha too is impressed.
Adi gushes about everything that happened that afternoon and he reveals to her his desire to settle down in India. Adi says that his family has everything and that there is no necessity for them to return back to America. Tanisha is shocked and reminds him that it was their plan to settle down in America. The two have a tiff and Tanisha accuses him of being power hungry and leaves the restaurant. Adi follows her and tries to pacify her. He pleads with her to think about this with a calm mind. Tanisha promises to and they return back to the restaurant.
Next morning, Tanisha brings down her laptop and says she is going to introduce her family to them. Everyone is curious as nobody has even heard of something called a webcam! Tanisha introduces Adi's family to her family through the webcam. Tanisha's father introduces his wife, his sister and his other daughter to Ammaji&co. Ammaji is shocked as he has no sons. Joginder says that he (Tanisha's father) has pitra dosh and that is why he does not have a son. Joginder asks him to come to India and he says he will perform a pooja after which he can be rid of the dosh. Tanisha's father is amused and says that he does not require a son as his daughters are in no way less than sons. After they bid adieu to Tanisha's family, Ammaji says that the Sanghwan family requires sons as only sons can continue the lineage. She adds that only the cry of a male child should be heard in the house. Tanisha asks her for the reason and she refers to Dia and says that they have a daughter in the family too and that she is very adorable. Ammaji says that Dia is the family's responsibility and she is a part of the family because it is her (Ammaji's) misfortune and that she is helpless. Saying so, she goes in.
A tearful Chanda rushes to her room with Santosh following suit. Avtar is very impressed at Tanisha's father's broad mindedness and Joginder continues to be angry.
Chanda is in her room and she is very upset. Santosh tries to console her. Chanda says that in the past eighteen years, everything has changed except Ammaji's attitude and mindset. She says the scene when her new born daughter was snatched away from her is still vivid in front of her eyes and that even after all these years she can still hear her child's helpless cries. Santosh encourages her to forget the past and be happy with the fact that now; she is the mother of a son and Ammaji's favourite DIL. Just then Chanda sees Tanisha standing at the doorway.
PRECAP- Tanisha asks Santosh and Chanda why Ammaji said only the cries of male children shall be heard in the house and why she said all those things about Dia.
