full court proceedings so will give a gist.the judge appreciates sunehri for bringing such a case against her husband that is if gaji is found guilty.smita,sunehri's lawyer starts off by saying that sunehri should get justice as this case will echo in the kasbah and serve as example to people who treat their wives as mere servants of the house rather that treating them as equal partners.she is astonished at the way people of the country who portray women in a divine light can treat the women of their own houses shabbily.the opposition lawyer tells the judge that sunehri has filed the case to take revenge on his client for not listening to her in the small argument they had.he asks the judge for sunehri in the witnes box.the defense lawyer wants to know the details of sunehri's marriage with gaji.sunehri answers that they have been married for 7 years now.have a 5 year old son.he asks her if she was happy in the marriage and about the arguments they had.sunheri answers that they were happy and had arguments which she always won.when asked about the physical harassment ,she tells the court that this is the first time she has faced such a problem.he asks her whether she has slapped her husband to which sunehri answers in the affirmative. so defense lawyer tries to prove sunehri in the bad light with her own words.
smita,the prosecution lawyer wants to know what was the fight about,sunehri tells the court that it is their personal matter.the lawyer tells the court that the wife defending her husband after all this means that sunehri will not bring the abuse to the court without valid reason.smita also asks sunehri if she didnt scream for help when this happened or whether she didnt try to escape.sunheri replies that her hands were tied and her mouth gagged.smita tells the court to note this.she asks sunehri how their physical relationship was in the marriage to which she says it was good .the lawyer also asks if she has attempted suicide before.sunehri tells the court that she has not as she till now was filled with pride that hers was the happiest marriage around and that day she realised that the husband who she loved didnt love her back.she talks about how her self respect and esteem were trampled.she also says that she was downgraded to a mere helper who had no identity of her own.totally she says that her pride and her trust in that marriage was broken that day.sia and raghav watch the entire proceedings tense .ammaji,and jogi are rendered helpless by sunehri's statements about gaji.
PRECAP-gaji is foung guilty of abuse and rape.he is sentenced to 7 years rigorous imprisonment.
