She rode a horse, she has done fight sequences and now she is fighting with swords. And this is not just in her call of duty but she enjoys it immensely. She is undoubtedly the new stunt queen of the small screen. Meghana Malik aka Ammaji has until now received accolades for her acting but now she is being appreciated for her action sequences.
The actress only last week did an edge- of- the- seat sequence where she raced on a horse. Her experience left her all bruised but very content. Considering that she is no trained rider this was no mean feat. "I have not been on a horse since almost last four years so this time when I was asked to do this action sequence I was very excited but quite nervous," she gushes, adding, "I wanted to do the sequence myself and did not request for a body double. I hardly get to do such sequences and I was more than happy to be doing this."
The sequence took very long to be shot and worse still as it was shot in summer the heat became unbearable. But for the versatile actress it was a gratifying experience. "All horses behave differently and understand the body language of the rider. Fortunately I got a very nice and friendly horse which understood I was a confident rider and hence it made it easier for me. But by the end of the day I was all sore and badly bruised but that's okay as I thoroughly enjoyed it."
And the dare-devil Malik has now shot for one more such stunt for Naa Aana Iss Des where she engages her opponent in a sword fight. And this time too she was hurt and a doctor had to be summoned to treat her. Talking about it she says, "This is a fight sequence where I have to lift this very heavy sword and fight my enemy. And guess for how long I had to lift this heavy sword? All of 19 long hours! And just not hold the sword but climb heights holding it in my hand fall down and even swirl it like a pro. And by the end of it I slashed myself and began to bleed. A doctor had to be summoned and after treating the wound he gave me a shot of Tetanus. But I have no regrets. I enjoyed this one too and in fact I was so enthused that I gave some riskier ideas to my creative team. And now my entire team has begun to call me the stunt queen."
She says she has been offered many films and reality shows but for the moment hasn't signed on any. "Nothing has excited me enough. And because I am doing a daily I hardly find the time to take up any other work. But yes, if the proposal is exciting I will find the time," confirms the actress before signing off.
