Ammaji points out that Raghav seems to be butting into her matters a lot lately. Does he think she has grown insane with age? He may have been educated abroad but she knows her traditions better than him. So what if Jhumar's husband-to-be is much older than her? When she married Raghav's father, she didn't care what he looked like or how old he was. According to her traditions, the elders create new relationships and the children have to fulfill them. Her son isn't old enough yet to be preaching to his mother! Saying so, she leaves and Raghav doesn't look pleased.

Sia, Santosh and Chanda are getting an upset and quiet Jhumar ready. Sheela comes in and tells them to hurry up because the ladke wale would be here anytime. She takes a look at Jhumar and sadly remarks that she has been quite unfortunate as a mother - she never had the opportunity to fully embrace her daughter until recently and now it was time for her to get married and leave the house. Sia asks Sheela not to say things like that on this day.

The ladke wale arrive in the haveli. Ammaji introduces them to her sons and Avtar. Then she asks Avtar to go fetch everyone else. When all the women come out, Ammaji introduces him to the guy and his parents. Sheela, Sia and and Santosh are taken aback by his age. The guy's father expresses how fortunate he is that some as wealthy and powerful as Ammaji considers his son worthy of her niece. She replies that it's not money that matters, but values. Then she asks them why they hadn't gotten their son married earlier - was something wrong with him? The guy says that he wanted to set his business up first and stand on his own two feet. Ammaji is impressed.

Santosh and Sia bring Jhumar out in the hall. Sheela asks her to serve tea of the guy and his family, which she does. Ammaji tells them to ask Jhumar anything they'd like. The father says that they don't need to ask her anything. Her family name speaks for itself. Any girl from Ammaji's house will be virtuous. Sheela praises Jhumar to them. The guy puts forth his request to talk to Jhumar alone. Ammaji denies it, saying that a boy and girl aren't supposed to meet and talk before they're married. The guy says that it's important that he and Jhumar discuss a few things and he won't take along. Finally, Ammaji relents.

Sia takes the couple to a room and leaves. There's an awkward silence for a few minutes. The guy says that the reason why he wanted to meet her alone was that if there was something she'd like to tell him, she could do so. He can see her as his future life partner but until she truly deems him worthy of her, he won't say yes to this marriage. So is she honestly happy with this alliance? What's her answer? The episode end on Jhumar's face.
