Lol. So they gave them the awards in 1967 after the backlash or something? I mean the movie came in 1965 right?

Yeah it's weird. Cos Fali Mistry won for cinematography in 1965, R.K. Narayan won for best story in 1966. And then it swept all the major awards in 1967 (except for music) smiley36

Like have one award for Guide every year smiley36

Nope. GUIDE released in 1966 and got all awards in 1967.

Yeah I haven't watched Aadmi but I believe it's similar. It came out after Sangam though.

In today's numerous newspaper articles dedicated to Dev Anand, I read Shabana Azmi mentioning Kala Bazar for giving its heroine the freedom to choose between two suitors. It was such a mature take on adult relationships.
