This song and the genius picturisation. It's Vijay Anand again.

Sacrilege and blasphemy that's what it is.

Guide should have won every award.

And Dev should have won Best Actor for Hum Dono - something I will always be bitter about.

What a beautiful title for the fitting tribute that followed. May be only Dev Anand has songs from literally every genre, mood and emotion. ❤️

Can’t believe it’s his centenary already because indeed he is and will always be evergreen.

I think this beautiful song depicts his philosophy about life. This also happens to be one of the songs that I keep going back to, whenever I need a little pick me up.

When have the awards been genuine anyway? I thought the things went downhill during the 90s, looks like it’s always been the case. Don’t know whether to feel relieved or sad about it.

I will also give credit to Shailendra for the genius lyrics in this one. Amazing writing!

Not giving best music award to GUIDE has caused a big controversy and filmfare had to issue a statement. Some sources claim that the jury had approached SDB for a bribe.

Anyway, decades later, all songs from GUIDE continue to enchant. An outlook poll in 2000s had ranked it as the greatest film album of all time.

On being asked whether he felt upset at not being awarded for Hum Dono, Dev Anand responded that awards are also about lobbying and handshakes, something he didn't indulge in.
