A Gentle Rain

Summer had roasted the earth to a brown

Parched and scorched, barren was the ground

I waited for the clouds to gather in the sky

And for the rain bird to give out its cry.

And when the first drops began to fall

I heard the rain bird give its shrill call

The earth shook away its lethargy

As Nature awoke slowly with energy.

I too wait in the same way

For my sakhi day after day

A bond that can break never

Sammy and Skep friends forever.
