In an attempt to revive the show's ratings, the makers of Meri Saasu Maa sprang a shocker on the viewers by bumping off the male lead, Pearl V Puri. There have been reports of Pearl's alleged unprofessionalism that prompted the makers to cut his journey short on the show. However, producer Rahul Tewary denies it, "We want to spruce up the show. There is no truth to what has been circulated about Pearl."
They have now roped in Siddharth Arora as the new hero opposite Hiba Nawab. Ask Siddharth if he had any apprehension about taking up an ongoing show with not-so-high ratings and stepping into another actor's shoes, he replies, "The show is being revamped and they are introducing a new family. I am treating it like a new project. I will do justice to the show also because my character belongs to the state of Uttar Pradesh where I hail from."
