I t isn't the first time that a lead actress is being replaced on the tube. But it sure is the first time when an entire cast is being changed, save the hero. The soap in question is Meri Doli Tere Angana. Gaurav Khanna will be the only familiar face left. Bye, bye, biwi Priyamwada Sawant who plays his better half (one of them) says that the characters themselves haven't been changed. Khanna's character falls into a valley and swims to Ujjain. "There's a different set-up and new actors there," she explains. Sounds quite like the Rishi Kapoor starrer Heena. Khanna agrees, "Many serials are inspired by films and revamps always arouse the viewers' interest." Unsure times ahead So does this mean farewell to the old cast? Sawant says that Zee TV hasn't yet clarified whether or not it wants the rest of the team back. Not in waiting "But I'm not going to wait - if other offers come my way, I'll take them up," asserts Sawant, adding that she has just finished shooting for an episode of Ssshhh… Phir Koi Hai. Khanna will now be paired with Shruti Sharma, earlier seen in Mamta. Rumour also has it that anoth- er show on the same channel will be revamped too. It's the weekend comedy, Chaldi da Naam Gaddi.
