Devika??

I really don't like Devika as a mother in fact the situation Ketki is today is only because of her.
When Saurabh called Devika sister in law it was fine but she ever taught her daughters to address Saurabh as uncle since he was a friend of Kalyani and Ketki father... never she was and still always lost in her own world...
It is always Kalyani who stands as a mother figure to Ketki.. she's always there to protect her...to fight for her happiness.
well may be some few of you or most of you will not agree but would like to see your comment about devika.

I agree.As a mother Devika should have noticed Ketki's(kid) behavior when Saurabh was around and shown some interest on things happening at Kalyani's end.

Given that she lost her husband at a young age with 3 kids to take care of,without proper income and constant tension about Kanishk's health she must have blindly trusted Saurabh at that time but what pisses me off is even now she doesn't show any motherly instinct or at least pay heed to Aaji's fears.

When Aaji expressed her concern to Devika when she saw Saurabh's pic in Ketki's book,without a second thought or suspicion she brushed her off saying that Ketki must be treating him as a fatherly figure.She didn't bother to have a pep talk with her teen daughter.

After that sindhoor incident I felt Devika will be over protective about Kalyani.Its good that she told Kalyani not to take anything from Meenakshi/Megha but isn't it Devika's responsibility to keep an eye on them and make sure her daughter is safe given that she has not one but three instances where they were accused of the mishappenings in Kalyani's life.(same applies to Kalyani too).

In yesterday's scene where Ketki denies to take help from Kalyani,I expected Devika to make her understand that while its good thing to stand up on her feet without any help,Ketki isn't doing it and relying on Protima(who herself is a reputed music company owner) for work,Devika should have made her understand that if she can take help from her so called friend who is related to music industry then why not take help from her own sister.People talk it anyway about a reputed person giving boost to Ketki's career,its just change in name... Protima instead of Kalyani.

More than agree with you... Each and every points you noted down shows and describe her as a very weak mother or a CARELESS MOTHER.
i noticed her from the episode her mother in law was telling her to make Raja agree to sell the theatre.. But her answer and her lost gaze and her answer to her that her hubby has showered with lots of love and accepted her as she's etc was simply an excuse of "Whatever happened she must be loved continuously by her husband"
Well she never shows any mother love towards the children(younger ones) neither towards these two (actual one)
She acts as if she's friend to these two actresses.she does not has the motherly love, whereas in some shows actresses who are not yet a mom does it so much love...
Well may be her role is written in such a way that she does not bother about her family like a fundamental support.

I strongly agree with you! Devika has failed in every possible way as a mother and only she is responsible for Kalyani and Ketki's rivalry that goes on all the way until they become old. She is a weak and pathetic woman who is always the bystander and doesn't take any action and above everything she's very irresponsible.

Both Kalyani and Ketki are headstrong and stubborn. Devika is rendered helpless in front of them. She is protrayed as a calm and tolerant mother who wants to support her daughters in all situations. But is incapable of influencing them in any manner.

Yes she has completely failed ion the task as a mother... though for Kanish also the sisters always were more concerned and tried every way best in supporting him.
she never tries to explain the facts to Ketki she always tells her to keep quiet or to be patience but she never clears the fact... in this way she's always as the goody goody mom in between the sisters but the sisters are never together...
she's not a strong bond between them...as any mom who wants her daughter together...
well the look she gives them is very clear she's not their mom... but is only acting.

But I agree with the point that Devika is an important reason for rift between the sisters. She is unable to show them that they care for each other very much and should talk out all their differences. Without a strong parental influence these two act as they see fit and make immature decisions.

@BOLD she should have been more strong because of the rift between the sisters but she just let thing happens per the situation...and she always has nothing to say about it.
this is true after knowing the TRUTH THAT THEY BOTH CARE FOR EACH OTHER she's not capable of showing her daughters each other importance in each other life.
