Why on earth was Amber listening at the door when Guneet and Dr were talking?? Gross violation of privacy plus that gave me such saas bahu serial feels๐Ÿ˜†

Amber has suddenly switched from Aap to Tum for Guneet?

Has the serial started product placement ? ๐Ÿ˜†

Guneet's reasons for breaking the roka seem to be many. First she mentioned anurag asking her to leave her job and telling her to lie to his mom. Then she said she can't forget the online guy. Then she said her heart wasn't in it from the beginning and that Anurag deserves someone who loves him.

I think it was ridiculous to talk about the online guy accepting her for who she is and not trying to change her. It's too soon to say that! What does she know about him and what does he know about her on the basis of a few chats? People reveal their best selves to each other online. It's when they start interacting closely and in person that problems begin. And couples almost always try to change things about the other person, It's human nature.

They could easily have avoided bringing it right up to the roka day and making it so public. Guess they couldn't resist the drama. How much nicer if Guneet and Dr had gone to a coffee shop and she had told him about her reservations and why she can't go ahead with the roka. Guess that's too low key and boring for ITV.

Exactly. As far as Guneet knows, the online guy doesnt know she has a dependant mother. The online guy doesnt know she has a sales job. She doesnt know whether the online guy is dominated by an interfering mother.

At least with Anurag she knows these things now & is rejecting him on the basis of these things, and pining for an online love who may well turn out to have the very same issues, for all she knows!

Without meeting or revealing basic family, job & lifestyle facts about herself, on what basis can she claim the online guy accepts her for who she is?

That's a very valid point. The online guy might well turn out to have even worse issues, who knows. They have discussed things like music and their likes. This in no way is enough to judge a person's mettle, what his personal situation is, how accepting he will be of her and her job, and her mother living with them etc.

If only relationships & marriage was simply a matter of both liking shayiri & Kishore Kumar songs!

The truth is, forget similar interests, even love is not enough. It is the everyday mundane issues of where to live, who will earn, whether to do job or business, whether to live separate or with parents, whether to hv kids or not, how much money is enuf, who will stay home to take care of kids/inlaws - these are the ones that most affect the success of a marriage in practice & most divorces start in disagreements over these.

I am not saying online relationships wont work, but even there u hv to get to discussing family, work & life choices before your โ€œconnectionโ€ can move to โ€œrelationshipโ€.

If only things were that simple....You are absolutely right, people seriously undermine what it takes to make marriage work... The idea that when you are in love you can conquer everything together is a big myth.

Online relationship can only be a step before real life dating. It can not replace real life dating. I read somewhere that online dating makes you ask out people whom you wouldn't have asked out in real life. And that immediately reminded me of Guneet and Amber.
