I have an interesting question of my own. How many of u here would be perfectly fine if ur hubby worked as a travelling salesman & wld not even cherish a wish in ur mind that he had a “nicer” job?

100%. Also, she is a person driven by her guts, instinct and heart, not so much of a brain-person. And her heart was never there. The first setback was Anurag's mom talking to her about all those things, second trigger was Doctor trying to skirt the issue, and this was the last nail in the coffin.

I would say good save ! Knowing the kind of things that happen in India after getting married under false pretences and promises. Guneet dodged a bullet. 👏

She really did dodge a bullet!! Finally a female lead who is not crying all the time and being dukhiyari because of the situation.

Last paragraph agree completely with it.

Deep sigh. I wish that msg wouldn't have come ATM. Things would have had a clear perspective. Now it's gonna be like the same scenario what if he had come to the cafe. So now that he texted she is Calling it off. Poor script no doubt. Also they introduced and butchered a decent character anurag for no reason. Could have directly gone ahead with a online story. Par nahi, they want to drag and try new twists. The same is gonna happen with kabir and that randeep. Either one of them will be shown negative.

Exactly my point. Thats the mentality in India about certain kind of jobs, that are not considered desirable. So its absolutely fine if he doesn’t want Guneet to work as a traveling salesman and he should have been upfront about it and tell her so. Its Guneets choice, she pretty clearly told him she loves her job and would like to continue with it, so instead of respecting that, he tells her that you can open a boutique or something. He is of the mentality, I am a doctor and I earn so much, why should my wife work and if she insists on working after marriage, just let her do something like opening a boutique so she FEELS her husband ALLOWED her to work.

If he feels his future wife should not be a travelling salesman he should tell her so or just break the roka and not pretend that he is fine with it.

This thread is so insightful. Lovely discussion👏

I believe it all depends on Guneet's explanation. I trust her character to be completely honest and bold. I mean look at her, she did not give ANY false or untrue answer to Anurag when he asked her that 'what if' question. She could have lied saying it doesnt matter, or anything per say. But she didnt. So for such brutally honest character, if she says she is breaking the marriage because she wants a respectful honest life instead of living under hiding, I would take her word for it. If she says she is a romantic person and just does not feel that her heart is in it, I would trust her too. And I believe knowing her, she CAN tell Anurag the reason is NDP's message too, and if that's what she admits, kudos to her.

From the BTS videos, Anurag accuses her of hiding things again. So it actually looks like Guneet will mention about the messages and might confess that it was a factor to her final decision. And that would make Anurag angry.

Let's wait to see what happens! 👍🏼

Isn’t that life ? We are faced with ifs buts and choices and it’s all about our decisions which lead to certain paths in life ..with or without regret

Guneets heart was never in the relationship to begin with and she really did this because maybe she thought this was her last chance and to please her mom. NDP was giving Guneet closure but maybe Guneet took it as a final sign that Anurag was not for her.

Also I missed the scene where Guneet says she loves her job? She complained about it in earlier episodes and made it seem it was the only choice she had. I mean if she was passionate about selling beauty products and excelled at it I would support her but I’ve never seen that from her to begin with ...maybe I missed a scene ?

I’m surprised at the constant mention of the script being poor and flawed ...it’s not perfect (just like people and life) but to call it poor or immature ? Why? Because we have flawed ML and FL? How much of a perfect world do people live in? I’d like a piece of that perfection

Anyways kudos to the writers for balancing the characters and keeping them relatively relatable. Sure there are some flaws and missed details but overall I’m loving the show because you can’t please everyone and there’s no such thing as a perfect show or script when we have so many different personalities watching the show

Word to your entire post! You put it so eloquently.

The reason I love this show is that every character is flawed, that makes them grey not an out and out villain. So none of them is perfect but that makes them real. Thats how people are in real life. I have seem so many parents like Amber and Pammi in real life, the more they age more they become sanki. As a kid you don’t disown your parents how much ever you would want to, because at the end of the day they are your parents and they have done so much for you. But you can definitely argue, fight and have disagreements with them like Niya and Guneet has.

Its so rare to find someone who is perfect, always does the right thing under any situation. I don’t know of any person in real life like that. So I guess I relate to them and understand if others don’t. Its about perspective and interpretation.

This is still a show and they do have to take certain liberties and create drama or no one would be watching the show. So they do go overboard with characters every now and then but this is a rare show after ages on TV which seems normal and is going at a steady pace.

Guneet might or might not love her job, the thing is she might want to navigate through her career on her own, without any involvement of anyone else. And it's understandable, it's not like she wouldn't want a better life for herself, but she wants to do it on her own.

Anurag didn't like that Guneet went on a date with someone else, Guneet didn't like Anurag's mom's opinion on her job and way of life, Anurag's methods about dealing with important questions were of hush hush type rather than honest and transparent- I am shocked both proceeded with Roka despite all these...

I complain about my job a lot... I am.not married ...but I do complain about my job a lot and always my family suggests that you get another job ..but the thing is even though I do complain about it ..It has become a part of my identity...I have been in this job for last few years and yes ..it's has its drawbacks ...but it's also what made me who I am now ..and I like myself ..this acceptance of myself comes with a peace of mind . I will rant about long hours and lot of work on most days but this job has brought me independence , dignity and self respect too.

Now coming to your question... I don't know how will I react that my life partner has to constantly travel, would I like him to be more comfortable ? Yes

But it shouldn't come at the cost of peace of mind ...? no

We all think that we know better what is more suitable for the person in front of us ..but thats not true ...we can only assume for the person.. That assumptions may be correct sometimes .

The decision for career change is very personal ..it should come with serious thought process from the person itself

And here Guneet wanted to be accepted ..she wanted respect for the job which has been her bread and butter for last few years ..was that wrong ? Anurag wanted his wife to be better ...he is not wrong too but he could have approached he situation without making it seem like the Job Guneet does is not respectable
