They have probably known Amber for many many years...while his wife was alive..and perhaps they know deep down he isnt a bad person but is acting out because he has become such a reclusive guy
I do agree that the CV went a little overboard with his character...especially all that mooli nonsense but maybe it was needed for Guneet and Nia to finally come down on him and set him straight..the straw that broke the camels back
I also think VB is kind of making dialogues up on the fly..his sarcastic one liners seem more impromptu than rehearsed...so maybe he is getting a bit carried away with his character...he may need to tone it down a bit at times especially the scenes where Amber gets hyper or angry. VB kills it when doing emotional scenes as does Shweta Tiwari
