@Ishq-Dua: I hope you don't mind that I am not quoting your post (for order's-sake)!

Indeed, commemorating the affairs of the Ahl-ul-Bayt [a] is very important. And since it's impossible not to love them once you get to know them, it's also impossible to keep quiet about their affairs! In this regard:

From Bakr bin Muhammad Al-Azdee from Abee 'Abd Allaah (as) [Imam Jafar as-Sadiq?] said: "Do you sit and speak (about us)?" He (the narrator) said, I said: "May I be sacrificed for you, Yes." He (as) said: "Verily, I love that Majaalis (gathering), and (and I love those who) keep our affairs alive. Whoever mentions us, or when mentioning us a tear leaves from his eye like (the size) of a wing of a fly, Allaah (swt) will forgive his sins, even if they are more than the foam of the sea."

And Arabic is your mother tongue? God, you are very lucky! I am trying to learn Arabic after which I also want to learn Farsi; not only many beautiful nohay in those languages but our main sources/books, as well. I love the sound of the language, it's very beautiful! 😳

Thank you for the link, btw!

As I mentioned in my first post: Sayyeda Zainab [a] already said in the court of Yazeed: "Do your best and put all your effort (into it)! By Allah, you will not erase our remembrance!"

May Allah protect you both and your loved ones!
Nope I don't mind at all :D
Yes Arabic is my mother tongue. You might think I'm luckier when you know that my parents are actually from Iraq but I was born in Lebanon and raised in the U.S since the age of 7. Three years ago I went to Iraq for a visit for the first time in my life and Alhamdulilah Allah granted me a visit to the Shrine of Imam Hussain (as) and the rest of the holy shrines of Ahl Al Bayt. I can't even explain the feeling when I entered the Marqad. You just feel so at peace SubhanAllah. It's a feeling that is out of this world I swear I can't even explain it in words.
I pray for you if you still haven't gone for Ziyarat Imam Hussain (as) and for everyone who wishes to go that Allah (swt) will grant them a visit very soon.
You want to learn Arabic that's funny b/c I'm actually trying to learn Urdu.
I LOVE like literally LOVE the Urdu language it's so BEAUTIFUL!
I understand about 80-90% of the language. I'm hoping I would be able to completely understand it and be fluent one day Inshallah.
Yeah nohas in Arabic are very sad especially in the Iraqi accent. My father used to read nohas in Lebanon during Muharam and the Lebanese people use to always tell him to read it in the Iraqi accent because it touches the heart.
You're welcome dear!
This is also another latmiya by Baseem Al Karbalai and it's with English subtitles. It's about Ali Alasghar (as).
Here is another latmiya about Karbala and Sayyeda Zainab (as)
Thank you sweetie, same to you. Embarrassed

We might not overcome our differences, which is nothing bad of and by itself, I believe, but we can "agree to disagree" and accept and tolerate each other hence, reach a Muslim unity which this ummah badly needs. And it's not difficult for me, as a Shia, to reach out for this goal especially since our greatest maraji (at the moment) are calling out for unity and mutual respect, and many are working towards it, already.

As Imam Ali [a] once wrote in a letter to Malik al-Ashtar [r]: "There are two kinds of people in this world. One are your brothers (sisters) in faith and the other your equals in humanity." - It's time that we understand this.

I am going to reply further via PM, if you don't mind 😆 We are already derailing the thread, lol. Though, yes, may the love for the Ahl-ul-Bait [a] rise in every Momeen's heart and not only that of the first four [a]. I love all of them, obviously, deeply and strongly, but if I were ever asked for which of my Imams [a] my heart bleeds the most (and that's only by a tiny fraction, really) I'd reply: Imam Sajjad [a] who had 'seen' 18 beloved family members massacred within one day and bore the sufferings of Kufa and Sham, who didn't laugh for around 30 years after Karbala and never ceased crying when food and water was placed in front of him- if you ever read his collection of du'as, you will be touched and astounded by seeing how beautifully [a] he kept spreading RasulAllah's [s] teachings. And also, Imam al-Kadhim [a] who had been imprisoned injustly for 14 years and yet, upon entering the prison his only thoughts were that now, he could worship his Lord in solitude; who was poisoned in prison and whose body 'workers' had to carry inspite of him having many sons [since they hadn't been allowed any contact with their father] 😭 And does anyone not cry for Husayn [a]?

Of course, all of them have carried their fair share of sufferings which our hearts ache for - and all of them have cried for Aba Adillah al-Husayn [a], never forgotten Karbala and that sacrifice and those atrocities. May we, their Shia, be worthy to be called as such by following their shown path. And may their love and respect strife in hearts bi haqqe Muhammad wa Aale Muhammad.

May Allah bless you and your loved ones, sister 😊

Sorry for that late reply, dear - I am down with a persistent cold 😭

Iraq. Lebanon. Yes, I think you are lucky 😛 It's kind of a little confusing for me, all the dialects that exist within the Arabic language- a Lebanese, for example, speaks differently than an Iraqi. So, I'm settling for fusha, for now - I believe newspapers etc... are still printed in fusha despite the spoken dialects, which is, I believe, beautiful.

lol, really? What a coincidence! Well, once I get to master the Arabic-language, we can start talking - you in Urdu, me in Arabic, with each other 😆

By the way, yes, I did ziyarat this year, actually. Kadhimyya, Najaf and Baghdad, unfortunately not Samarra, yet. But if Allah wills, that will happen, too, one day. And it was in Rajab, so, we spent the birth anniversary of Imam Ali [a] in Najaf and it was really beautiful 😳 I even posted some pics in another thread: here. We also plan to go to Iran, next time - inshaAllah ❤️ And it is great that you had this blessed opportunity, as well! 😉

Yeah, I know Basim Karbalai, he's rather "mahshoor" (known); have listened to him, before. Maybe I could learn a bit Arabic like this- listen to latmiyas with subs. I know someone who caught Farsi this way 😆 Thanks for the links 😉

Ma asalama.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you're feeling better now :)

Hahaha yeah the dialects can be confusing but most of the Arabs understand each other even when they're speaking in different dialects. But yeah some words are very different.
I actually like the fusha more because it's the REAL Arabic language. The language of the Quran and the Prophet. It bothers me how when Arab countries split they also got different dialects instead of sticking to our beautiful Fusha language. I always get upset over this issue and complain to my parents about it lol
Yes the newspapers, TV news and programs are still in Fusha. Also schools in all of the Arab countries teach in Fusha as well not the dialects.

YES YES I cannot even explain to you my love for the Urdu language. All my family members know this and sometimes they doubt if I'm actually an Arab b/c I know more Indian/Pakistani dramas and famous celebrities than Arab ones 😆 lol.
I just love everything. The language, the culture, the clothes. It interests me so much and I think it's just so beautiful. I wish they taught Urdu here in college as a second language I would have been the first one to sign up for the class.

omg that would be awesome. You can speak to me in Arabic and I would love to talk to you in Urdu. It would be so much fun :D
Bas. Ab tum mere dost ban gaye ho lol Embarrassed😉
Oh wow Mashallah. So you've actually did ziyarat this year how nice :D My relatives actually live in Baghdad because that's where we are originally from and Kadhimyya is very close to our house b/c it's also in Baghdad so I went Ziyarat many times when I was there. I went to Karbala as well and sadly I couldn't go to Najaf b/c we had to return to the US and we had a day left but the weather became so bad and it started to rain heavily and we couldn't go. I really wanted to visit Imam Ali (as) Shrine. Inshallah next time.
Wow! lovely pics Mashallah it reminded my of my visit to Iraq.
I would love to go to Iran as well. Inshallah Allah will grant us this visit.

Yeah Bassim is very famous and even non Arabic speakers listen to him and know him. You actually can learn Arabic by listening to latmiyas with subs because you can catch a lot of words this way and you would also know what they mean.
